I was going to mess around with Lemmy but I enabled 2FA yesterday, and somehow failed to update 1Password with the 2FA. So, I guess I've lost that account. 🤷

There were no recovery codes offered when I enabled 2FA. Sigh.

@nixCraft this is as stupid as requiring in-office (as opposed to remote), you’re limiting the hiring pool. Probably a sign of lazy/incompetent or severely underfunded HR/recruiting.

Wayland is still broken for me after today’s Tumbleweed update. I’m going to have to figure out how to debug this, it’s mildly annoying.

It’s something in the SDDM➡️Wayland handoff, because I can start it directly from a console and Wayland is all happy.

Weirdly specific complaints:

  • I haven't seen Penny Arcade's RSS feed update in Thunderbird in months.
  • I can't find an RSS feed reader that runs locally and can display the comics from Penny Arcade's feed.

I tried a bunch of the Linux-supporting alternatives to Akregator, and Akregator. 🤷

Is there some sort of systemd event or trigger when a Bluetooth I/O device (a mouse in my case) is attached or removed?

Wondering if I could use this to automatically (and emphatically) disable my laptop's touchpad when the mouse connects.

Of the 11 stickers I put on my new laptop, 7 have bubbles and will need to be carefully peeled and re-applied. 😭

(Update: the screwdriver/spodger that @frameworkcomputer sends with the hardware is working really well for peeling the stickers.)

The third step in Cryptopals needs you to detect English text, specifically the immortal words of poet Vanilla Ice.

I think I’m seriously overthinking this. I’ve got one that works for step 3, but step four is “find the English in these 370-ish lines of ciphertext. And I’m not getting close.

How do you figure out what font(s) Discord desktop is using? Mine currently displays Japanese and Chinese text as Unicode "oh noes, I can't find a glyph" rectangles. There aren't any font settings in the app other than size. 🤷

Looks like OpenSUSE Tumbleweed didn't install the Noto CJK fonts. Fixed it!

I might have to install Snap on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed so I can use Todoist, I'm having trouble with the AppImage version.

One of the points of trying OpenSUSE was to avoid Snap, because I don't like how they integrate with other apps in the system.
