As I've been able to sit at my desk for stints, I've begun the work of editing (again) the first book. Yes, the one that some of you read. The heart remains the same, but so many adverbs are on the chopping block, haha. I'm just finessing everything. Wrote a new first chapter, changing dialogue. The problem is that I've gotten better and I want it to be better. It's a good problem to have. 💜

13 years ago Adam Smith wrote the finest piece of personal journalism ever written on games. every few days i sit down for breakfast and stare at the lone boiled egg on my plate, and start laughing.

This weekend I’ve been playing “I Was A Teenage Exocolonist” (currently on sale via Steam so it was $20 instead of $37) and I wonder why I haven’t heard my pals talk about it before? It’s an SF RPG with a blue-haired protagonist (any pronouns, customize appearance/gender in late teens). The writing is good. You choose which skills/friendships to develop and acquire cards that are the main card game mechanics for challenges. Late game has romance options too. It even has a Murderbot reference 😅

Today I finally learned which bird makes the sound I love! It's a black-capped chickadee! (You can hear it here if you want by finding its name in the list). This has been bothering me for actually years.
The other bird I wanted to know about is the white-throated sparrow. Heard that one all the time growing up.

Had to do the floors at breakneck speed to finish the house on time but I did it!

...the guest, however, showed up a half an hr early. I told them that the house would be ready at 4, & he informed me that he was going to stay in the driveway until then.
...
I cheerfully told him about a beach & a cafe nearby he could wait at until 4 & he informed me that he was going to wait.

I politely told him that I needed the room to do a 3pt turn to get my car out & he couldn't stay.
