I read the executive order on AI from the White House, wrote a summary and used an AI-powered video generator to create the appearance of me presenting it. In accordance with suggestions in the order, the video is clearly labeled.

I did make radio and cut my own voice. That changed my perception of my own voice.
About the Korean.
Could you judge if it's good Korean? Does a voice identifier, identify you as the speaker of the generated Korean?

@axbom I think allot about evaluating AI and it's definitely tricky. Also WHO can really judge the Generated content. Can you evaluate if the Korean would be recognized as authentic.
Are you the best person to judge if the representation of yourself is good? Not necessescarily.

Can we learn to recognize AI generated content or are we just unlearning authenticity if we watch too much generated content?
Not what can we do with GenAI but what does GenAI do to us.

I could imagine that the plugging frequency could differ for USB.
20.000 is a bit more than two 2 plugging cycles per day for 25 years.
If you use it that much you should think about a good durable power converter in the wall. 🙃

@cstross @dashdsrdash @ryanc @nf3xn If this forecast is right we would have to rewire everything. 3.6kw max for most households. Also the cable must be very much thicker if they stay with 5 volts. Results in 2.000 ampere.

Will we need the bandwidth... We will see. But with Moore's law ending this could be a bit too much to compute.

But that does not solve the problem that I don't want to crouch on the flor to plug in USB or have to use the rooms as they were initially planned with ports on table height.

Für mich der valideste Punkt im ganzen artikel. Als ich jung war gab es viele "nahost" Konflikte und es wurde auch manches Mal darüber geredet und man konnte viel lesen. Es gab auch Perspektiven und friedenspläne.
Seit 10 Jahren gibt es das alles nicht mehr.

Wenn wir die KFZ Steuer für alle zugelassenen Fahrzeuge* in Deutschland um 1,50€/Monat, also 18€/Jahr erhöhen würden, hätten wir etwas über 1 Milliarde € pro Jahr mehr um das dauerhaft sicher zu finanzieren.

(* Laut KBA sind in Deutschland ca 60 Millionen Fahrzeuge zugelassen.)

Imagine a computer following its programming and its programmers getting away with calling unwanted outputs a ”hallucination”.

And then other people start calling anything they didn’t want or expect from the computer a hallucination. As if the programmers are completely unaccountable for their programming.

It’s happening every single day and its like an adventure in Wonderland.

The worst thing about working on another Laundry novel is that I seem to spend 75% of my working time paging through previous years' books trying to figure out precisely which events happened in what sequence and to whom, and another 50% of my time trying to find obscure minor characters I can re-use in a more advanced role, and finally 10% of my time actually writing.

Wenn es um den Verbrauch geht:20% mehr für löhne ist happig. Meinst du die sollten weniger bezahlen?

Naja es geht halt auch nicht nur um Wikipedia. Es gibt ja ne Menge Initiativen. Wenn du dich auf dieses Musk Niveau: "ich kann den txt auch auf mein händi tun" Quatsch eingehst zeigt das wie viel Einfluss er hat obwohl du ihn ja "sooo doof" findest.
Bin immernochnicht schlauer. Irgendwelche Kritik gibt es so gewiss wie den Bekannten bei dem jeder ChatGPT prompt 💯 richtige Ergebnisse ausspuckt. 🤷

Here's a test I'll be adding to my repertoire of LLM tests.

"I left Singapore at 9PM on Oct 20, flying east to San Francisco where I will arrive at 9PM on Oct 20. How much daylight will I see looking out the window?"

All of them - ChatGPT4, Claude, Bard - got it spectacularly wrong, confidently asserting I'd see lots of daylight.

When I told them I'm 10 hours into the flight and have seen none so far they were all like "oh, yeah, right, sorry about that."
