AA contributor and AmigaLive tournament host Mark "pnutttz" Nuttall is working on a game of a different kind. Check out his campaign on Kickstarter! #Amiga#AmigaTrumps
Many a computer from the 1980s is today yellowed and brittle. The plastics age considerably over the decades. You can do some mitigation by retrobrighting with hydrogen peroxide. However for some machines you can even get replacement cases, and in some cases even brand new key caps for the keyboard. Today we will transform a beige Commodore A500 into a black beauty!
too bad I never owned a MegaDrive in the 90's. Was too much into the #Amiga , which I do not regret, as it created me the person I am (as a software engineer/engineering manager). Though, I would wonder what this would have been if I had a Sega instead... ;-)
I've just watched the #Amiga demo HAMazing by Desire and I want to say a few words about it. The first ones are: it's insane what hardware that's almost 40 years old could do. It blew my mind as a kid and rightly so.
The demo is all about leveraging HAM mode, which allowed you to display up to 4K colors simultaneously. Let me explain how that worked and how remarkable this demo is. 🧵 1/6
My #Fedivision2024 entry was finally accepted by the Mod Archive (serious human screening process) and can now be witnessed in its original Amiga MOD form (or you download the ADF Amiga Disk Image from my homepage - see pinned note on my profile).
But think twice before you vote for me (as PAULAnder von Liebhertz) at Fedivision2024 which would be code CBMC (think Commodore Business Machines Class) – because a lot of other entries are ACE as well!
Thanks to the lovely request from @vanacksabbadium I present to you my latest work.
Feast your eyes on the Shadow of the Beast 3 banner. 😊
I might actually do the banners for the part 1 and 2 as well, so stay tuned. 🙂 #amiga#art#retrogaming#oldgames
I want this years #Fedivision, the #Fedivision2024 to stand in the blazing light of the Commodore #Amiga computer. That's why I've created my entry the way I did:
PAULAnder von Liebhertz: Laden läuft.mod (code: CBMC)
(uploaded but at the mo in human screening, that may take a while)
It simply shows what POWA the Amiga still has. Right now. In 2024. The Power to DOMINATE 'em all. While voting for PAULAnder von Liebhertz (CBMC) you basically vote AMIGA. Because the Amiga started it all:
The Graphics. The Music. The coding. The Creativity. For everyone. Because everyone could afford it. Amiga was Punk. Amiga was 1337. Even Andy Warhol couldn't resist those charms. Did I say "it was"? It is! It's strong; it's alive, it's kicking. Better than ever. Better than the rest.
And let me tell you one thing: No matter how our future will be: There will always be an Amiga. There is no future without an Amiga. That's why: Vote for the "CBM class moon of da meditating Amigas". Vote CBMC. Because Amiga. Because it's more than just a friend. Amiga is life! Our life!
Thank you all!
Yours PAULAnder von Liebhertz aka die nmi! aka Herr Irrtum!
And there are greetings! Of course!
Greetings go to all those who inspired me, helped me, offered help: Like @ne7, @harrysintonen, @shred, @pndc, @GabeMoralesVR – just to name a few. Basically to all those, who keep a friendly Amiga spirit alive within the mighty Fediverse.
And some more stats: This was the first time I did a true (mainly single cycle) chip tune since 1996. And my first Mod since 1992 (back then, behold, with MODEdit v2.00).
When I was a youngster in the late 1980s, I formed an Amiga game dev team with 2 friends.
Before making games, we started by trying to sell game music that used minimal RAM, made with our music editor SIDmon.
To promote our game music, this energetic music module was composed by our musician Ramon Braumuller. The file, including tiny sampled sounds, is only 22 kilobytes.
