    Have I my mentioned how totally awesome @organicmaps's new "Outdoors map style" is - a mode that highlights tracks and trails?! It's absolutely splendid, and amazingly accurate even for small paths (built on OSM).

    By the way: is fully offline, requires no registration, has no ads, no tracking - and works very well. So it depends on donations, like the fediverse does! Use and support them if you value it

    There's a recent trope on the tiktok/reel/video_social that goes like: "We are $group_type, of course we $do_behavior." Usually it is a couple of people alternating with this line. Such as, "We were raised Evangelical, of course we have trauma.

    Seems like fans of Cory @pluralistic would have similar patterns, that we could try out here. Such as:

    Finally after many requests off and on for maybe a year (!) I finally made good old Snickerdoodles. A good munch was had by all. Dug out Mom’s Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook ((1950!) and made it as written but for cream of tartar. Remember that weird ingredient everyone who made cookies in the US had to have solely for THIS recipe? My sister found out it’s not needed and so we leave it out. BTW, how can shortening be sooo expensive these days?

    Speaking of CNN, it so weird man. From 7 Oct until maybe 2 weeks ago, the majority of the coverage was making a case for the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Then, suddenly, like magic, the second the IDF says out loud what everybody knew they were doing anyway, CNN starts restricting coverage. Now, a few reports here and there but majority Trump. Smh

    This article really has it all: Conservatives yelling “Slippery slope!” in order to prevent positive change - and a mainstream media outlet not only agreeing it would be dangerous to hold political elites to account since we’ve never done that before, but also accusing of silly “ethics wars.”
