We are getting in some more plays

First, Blacksmiths of Steinheimr. A light but fun worker placement where each turn you get to place a worker to take an action, and pick a worker up to activate a second action. Check out my video here for more info.

Spent an hour total time (but about 30 min actually ) to get Laurie from to this point.

I have a wash to apply tomorrow though I've never used a wash but hope it brings out some more definition between the light and the dark.

Not entirely sure what to do with the base. Thinking the girls will have matte black with a colored outside rim and the Killers have all blacl with blood splatter?

Thoughts or comments to help me improve?

Second game done, and I finally won. #Wingspan with Oceania Expansion.

Having a hard deciding on next game. We either want to do #ArkNova with Marine Life expansion or #Everdell with Bellfaire and Spirecrest. Any opinions?

After the first game of , the Ruby and Saphire deck was victorious over the Amber and Emerald deck.

I really liked the location cards in the R/S deck as it allowed to get Lore points each round almost immediately.

The A/E deck was cool that some of the Dalmatians had some really cool synergies that created some really high scoring rounds but it wasn't enough.

It was like I was playing again some 20 years ago.

An extra early game of Wayfarers this morning as I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I did much better compared to last night. 76 to 76 (against the space AI) and I won the tie breaker.

This happens every time she learns a new game! And this came from my wife's mouth so I'm not bad talking.

First 1/2 of game, she is disinterested in learning something new.

Third quarter of the game, she wants to cry because it's all too much to take in.

Last quarter of the game, it all clicks and then she wins.

Tonight she won 48 to 47 in and followed the exact path laid out above. It's amazing.

Question about say I have a card in play who has text that says he gives a +1 to a combat roll. He also has the combat emblem in top left.

When I have a combat skill check, and my base is 3, the ally gives me +1 for a total of 4. Now if I commit him (meaning I will discard him after the completion of the skill check) does that give me an additional 1? Or do you either get to use the text OR commit the card?

Same q but with an activate action instead of just text

This move is absolutely cursed. Our whole house is packed and at movers for storage over night. We are cleaning the house yesterday for the final time. The realtor calls and tells us the buyers lender has determined to not close today because of their last mortgage payment being late (or something.) So now the closing is off until they transfer to another lender. While our stuff is literally on a truck.

Let's hope our seller approved temporary occupancy so we can still move in later today

In that strange zone of moving where all the non-essentials are packed but it's getting close to needing to pack everything else but there just isn't enough hours in the day.

It also doesn't help that our buyer is open to moving closing date up to the week, which we really want to do, but can't get in touch with movers to figure out if they can move it up.

It feels like living in limbo.

Ok, this week is crazy with new arrivals that I ordered a long time ago, showing up.

Blacksmiths of Steinnheimr just hit the doorstep. I was intrigued by this Kickstarter and how Runeshield Games didn't make a hundred different pledge levels or promises of expansions. It was basically, this is the game we want to make, please help us to do that.

Put some things on my Christmas list so I can attempt to paint my Series 1

Anyone have any tips on using washes? For the I've painted previously, I primed in black, then dry brushed grey and then white. Then used just speed paints.

On these I think I want to prime with a light beige, then drybrush white, then use speeds. But a lot of people recommending washes after for deeper shadows. Any thoughts?

I stepped up to level 2 automa in but lost by 9 points. I feel you really need to commit to a card type (quests, items, or meteorites) to grab the glory for having 4. If you try to collect a few, you seem to really get caught not collecting enough glory to compete.

My son bought me a mythos pack for the card game for Christmas, but I don't own that. I think he got confused bc of me checking out the Arkham Horror board game from the library.

So, instead of returning the pack to the game store, I used Targets BOGO 50% and just bought AHCG and the Forgotten Age campaign expansion.

This probably wasn't the smartest move financially, but I didn't want to disappoint the little guy!
