Stop. The first part sounded like almost-an-apology, but this kind of weasel-language just throws that in the toilet.
Just #admit that 1) you don't have sufficient audit records to know what information was accessed or for which clients, 2) you done screwed up, and 3) that anyone might have it by now, and you'd have no way to know it.
The #mainstream#media's constant "On the one hand... on the other..." approach to pretty much every #issue is definitely not helping the general public's apparent endorsement of the #aphorism "For every #complex#problem, there is a simple, easy-to-understand #wrong#answer".
If we want an educated - or at least informed - public, we have to stop over-simplifying the issues and facts, turning them to blenderized pablum, and get people to appreciate that real life isn't simple, black-and-white.

To be able to drop your specially-constructed image in the EFI system partition on a Linux machine, you need root privileges. So you need a chained remote-root vulnerability first.

Yes. The inspector had previously told me they had loads of #problems from that guy, but of course very little could be done about it - #public#sector#unions in this country essentially make it #impossible to fire or even discipline their members, no matter how egregious, incompetent, or even malicious they are in the performance of their duties.
Of course, the bad apples are the exception, not the rule - but they ruin things for everyone.
