It's a cult.

You ask, don't they see who he is?

Yes, they do. THEY. DON'T. CARE. He speaks for them. They want what he wants, despite his "approach."

Via Rachel Scott:

supporters packing his event today despite the brutal cold.

I asked several supporters if the bitter weather will impact turnout.

“I would walk over shattered glass for Donald Trump,” one woman told me.

I am a rather "spiritual" person. And way more atheist than Dawkins will ever be, because I have a better understanding of the structure of human knowledge.

(Also, I think he took some kind of test that showed him devoid of the "spiritual" capacity. So, basically, he is like someone who has no 3D perception, but insists on opining about it.)

In Hebrew School they definitely taught me to be a good person. I will very much say that is so. It was the core thing.

The same is true of the Cub Scouts. I was in the Cubs when Boy Scout HQ was still right in our Central Jersey neighborhood, at the Route 1 and 130 junction, and not moved down to Texas and trying to fight modernity.

They took the scriptures, but not really the religion. There is barely any similarity, in practice.

Churches are now removing from their repertoires some of the psalms that are most recited by Jews. These psalms have often been cited by New Atheists as attacks on Christians. For instance, "By the waters of Babylon" (or similar). These are profound laments, for Jews. For New Atheists, they are Christians being monsters. They are about WHAT WAS DONE TO JEWS!

When I was about 4, in the middle 1960s, I had a terrible stomach ache in the wee hours. My parents took me to the ER at St. Peter’s in New Brunswick. They worked all over me, came up baffled.

So when the pediatrician’s office opened, he put a stethoscope to me, diagnosed bronchitis in two seconds, and blew his top that the residents in the ER couldn’t figure this out.

Anyway, I’m not dead. I think.

We went to my grandparents’ in Queens. I felt better by afternoon.

& then he falsified the biz records in furtherance of effort to viol campaign finance laws.

Are these folks really this stupid?

Bash: We actually have the reimbursement checks… Are you comfortable with this?

: worked for . Pres Trump paid his legal fees, he paid his Michael Cohen legal fees & bills & that's what this trial will bringing fwd

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@GottaLaff Also, the lawyer in question will TESTIFY that these were NOT legal fees.

That brings the matter pretty much to an end. The recipient of the payments (Michael Cohen) will testify what they actually were for. The jury will not be convinced Cohen set this all up as an operative of Joe Biden, because that makes no sense whatsoever.

@pfpoitras You might really get a kick out of this Bell equivalent. It is a mechanical contraption that does what a Stern-Gerlach magnet does.

https://github.com/chemoelectric/problems-logically-equivalent-to-Bell-tests/tree/main/Stern-Gerlach-Shutters

Just a first draft.

This actually proves Kracklauer wrong about some stuff he said that the magnets and the polarizers were essentially different because the former were ‘quantum’ in some sense and the latter weren’t. Actually there is no such thing as ‘quantum’. There really, really isn’t.

@emilygorcenski I especially like: "The reason Tesla hasn't "worked all the bugs out yet" is that the company is run by people who hold established best practice in ideological contempt, and is defined by a tech-industry culture that fetishizes innovation and regards product quality as a third-order concern."

I think that is echoed into many silicon valley efforts, but for me it resonates around "software engineering" which is striving for engineering, but in many cases hasn't gotten there yet.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@jjlupa @emilygorcenski

Much of ‘software engineering’ in its ‘truest’ sense has been a lame attempt to mimic civil engineering’s ability to keep to a schedule.

But re-paving a road, say, has to keep to a schedule because of the weather, etc., and what goes on in-between is VERY predictable. So it is not the same problem. So it is a stupid mimickry.

People? Just because something is good for SOME people doesn't mean it's good for you. Even if it's "natural" and "organic."

https://mastodon.social/@auscandoc@med-mastodon.com/112486193782536020

Don't take supplements unless your DOCTOR tells you to based on test results. What's good for one person is not necessarily good for another, and just because Ivermectin cured your anal warts doesn't mean it won't explode your sister's gut and leave her permanently incontinent.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@thepoliticalcat I take D. I'm olive skinned so probably don't generate D as efficiently as a lighter skinned person, but probably well enough. However, sunlight gives me hives. And I am broken out now. :((((((( So I am taking histamine opposite-of-supplements.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@thepoliticalcat These associations are generally so tenuous that it hardly is worth making a big deal. They are people getting through college by running statistical software.

Now, for instance, low dose aspirin regimen is associated with increased stroke risk, so they say DO NOT do it. But all this was just statistical studies in the first place! No one, but no one, actually knows ahead of time what is good for YOU.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@thepoliticalcat Some supplements are awfully safe to take, though. Synthetic vitamin C is unlikely to do more than give you the runs.

I OTOH have had niacin poisoning. You do not want niacin poisoning. It is like being the victim of slow arsenic poisoning in a mystery novel. And I even had a doctor's orders—he paid too little attention. It is not safe to take niacin supplements unless you know what you are doing.

Oh, the authorities supposedly aren’t warning us about the ‘surging COVID’? That’s why they put out a new round of booster shots and made available new sets of free tests, because they aren’t warning us?

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

In the United States at the federal level, at least, there is no conspiracy to hide COVID-19 from you. They are providing you with recommendations for booster shots and FREE HOME TESTS.

The rest is up to you. Take responsibility for yourself. Quit whining about the International Jewish Conspiracy to Give Us All COVID or whatever the heck it is you are whining about.
