From time to time #Perseverance uses its fixed down looking camera, or EDL_RDCAM, to record movies of, well, the ground π₯΄ , probably while the ground radar RIFMAX does its thing. And let's not forget that it's the same camera that captured those epic images during the rover's descent to the Martian ground.

@paulrickards back in 1990 my dads work imported an Amiga 1000 from the states to evaluate it. Once done they didnβt need it so they let him take it home to us. Like little birds in the nest being fed a big fat worm we devoured the awesomeness.

@paulrickards the tech guy at work apparently laugh heartily at the electrolyte spread thoroughly through the housing. He managed to fix the power supply though and it worked just fine after that.
A small manufacturing defect destroys your computer's main storage, and it's nonrecoverable. All data lost.
Do you have backups so that you can restore what you cannot do without, and quickly? Have you checked those backups are happening? do you have multiple backups? have you checked they're restorable?
If I can click the share button and open the web page of a post, then why canβt my local client fetch an image directly from the originating instance? Instead of waiting for my home instance to download it then send it to me it seems? #mastodon
@hirad yeah I get it. Just frustrating that when Iβm the first person on my instance to access some media it takes forever. I gotta encourage more mastodon.nz people to follow #RetroComputing and #birds lol
In todayβs mini Japanese story (listened to for language practice), a woman with two children boards a ferry, along with a samurai. The kids demand candy, but there is only has one sweet π¬.
The kids are brats and each demands to be given the candy.
The samurai wakes and draws his katanaπ‘οΈ.
Is the solution to decapitate a child? I thought so.
So did the mother who hides the kids behind her.
But samurai slices the candy in two, solving the issue, although with a disappointing lack of finality.
@elizabethtasker audible wonβt let me open that link in the USA, it keeps redirecting to either the app or audible.com! could you give me the book name and author? Thanks!
Ever wondered what the Aurora Australis looks like in real time on video? Your wish is my command. Hereβs a sequence I shot earlier today showing the rapid pulses of the aurora which arenβt captured on timelapses! #aurora#auroraaustralis#realtime#NewZealand
