@k is that the S4? I keep looking at better controllers than my little Numark party mix but then realized I’d only be doing it for the new toy rush and I have plenty of other things I should be spending money on
So before I make this next post, I want to be clear that I personally hate April Fool's Day. The essence of humor is surprise. There is no surprise in April Fool's Day! Everyone's actively bracing for it! April Fool's Day on the Internet has long since stopped being about "jokes" and devolved into a series of exhausting, repetitive, occasionally-cruel pranks, often enacted by the world's biggest corporations against the captive audience of their customers.
I kinda hate that taking the title is now in view. When we beat them on Friday, Leicester will only have 6 points on us. Hull’s late win keeping them in strong playoff contention will have them pumped to take down Southampton on Tuesday. Rotherham will inexplicably decide they want to do Leeds a favor and surprise Ipswich.
The prettiest of the Epyx Games series, Winter Games also had great variety across its events. These included elegant ice skating, rhythmic speed skating, an early crack at 3D bobsleigh, and biathlon, which cleverly alternated between precision shooting and arm-hurting skiing sections. Alas, it was all downhill by the time semi-sequel The Games: Winter Edition rocked up three years later.
@craiggrannell great memories of playing this (and the rest of the series) with my uncle, cousin, and friend, all of us crammed in my little bedroom, huddled around.. probably my Amiga, but maybe this was the ST?
@tveskov for me that was when I let 1-800-HEROES.com go. It was going to be a superhero management game, very much drawing on the vibe of Rockstar Ate My Hamster. Renewed it for years, finally realized I was never going to make significant progress. Someone did eventually do something vaguely similar, I think Doublefine put it out on mobile? I feel validated when that happens :)
I almost felt a bit guilty about writing ‘The Nintendo eShop is a bag of hurt compared to Google Play and the App Store’ when the store subsequently worked the following week. Not so much now, when the stupid thing won’t let me buy 25 quid of Mario Kart tracks to play with my daughter. (Error Code 9001-2490! Again!) It’s just astonishing how flaky this is. I’ve literally never had this problem with the App Store nor Google Play.
EDIT3: i'm going to close this to new submissions since they've slowed to a trickle now
