It never sounds like Vernell Fournier is doing much, but try to play what he's doing and... F*!k! I'm listening to Ahmad Jamal's Alhambra right now but am too lazy to snap a pic. Great piano trio. @vinylrecords

Catwalk - Emily Remler

I finally get to cross this one off my wishlist. I was on a self-imposed austerity plan the past couple of months, and then I opened Discogs and saw that a seller had reduced the price for this by a good bit. Really happy to have this, and at a steal. Killer album.

@vinylrecords Benny Bailey thought the crowd was really digging his solo in Cold Duck Time, and then he opened his eyes and saw what the crowd was really applauding - Ella Fitzgerald taking her seat.

I'm sending love to my fellow Mastodonians for whom the holidays are difficult due to an empty seat at the table - may you find peace and comfort in the memories of the time you shared. For my mother, Helen.

Dixie Dregs - What If (1978)

I always loved that little section of acoustic guitar with violin in Odyssey. Sounds almost like a Kansas tune. https://songwhip.com/dixie-dregs/odyssey

Starlings make images with mostly sharp images that often resemble creatures.

Watch "Dance of the STARLINGS" by Claire Droppert. It's intense.

johnshirley2024,

@Ralph @cratedigger Looking at the right side of that "cat" ear, I conclude it was edited. I think the artist saw a vague cat shape and edited a little to bring it out.

PSA. While this may be true, "moissanite is a girl's best friend" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

@hankg I got sucked into the diamond hype when I got engaged - 28 years ago! The diamond fell out of the setting several years ago and we were never able to find it. 😞

REM - Life's Rich Pageant (1986) 3/3

This was quite a run of three albums, and some might say four albums if you add Murmur on the front end, or Document on the back. I never cared much for Document, so I'd go with Murmur.

What other bands do you think have had at least three consecutive albums that were chef's kiss?
