It never sounds like Vernell Fournier is doing much, but try to play what he's doing and... F*!k! I'm listening to Ahmad Jamal's Alhambra right now but am too lazy to snap a pic. Great piano trio. @vinylrecords

Catwalk - Emily Remler

I finally get to cross this one off my wishlist. I was on a self-imposed austerity plan the past couple of months, and then I opened Discogs and saw that a seller had reduced the price for this by a good bit. Really happy to have this, and at a steal. Killer album.

ECM is reissuing some very good recordings on vinyl - see https://ecmrecords.com/luminessence-audiophile-vinyl-reissue-series-in-2024/

Afric Peperbird, Jewel in the Lotus, Azimuth, Freigeweht.. all classics.

@benthos @vinylrecords Nice, I'll probably pick up that Maupin classic, and anything with Kenny Wheeler on it.

30 different types of tomatoes to choose from to grow this coming gardening season.

WHY DO I HAVE SO MANY GODDAMN TOMATO SEEDS?

Anyway, of these... which ones are your favorite, or which would you like to try?

My favorites are the Sungold's and the Super Sweet 100s.

My goal is to make and sell things at farmers markets, and my little farm stand (that I didn't put up at all in 2023, whoops!).

Tomatoes are not all I grow... but I will never not be surprised at how many different types of tomatoes I have when I take my seed stock at years end.

Dixie Dregs - What If (1978)

I always loved that little section of acoustic guitar with violin in Odyssey. Sounds almost like a Kansas tune. https://songwhip.com/dixie-dregs/odyssey

Trying Cella Bio. Good product, but tub is too small for my taste: makes loading a large brush more difficult.

@Leisureguy @wetshaving I saw this soap when browsing recently. The original Cella in the red tub is my daily driver. If you know that one, how would you rate Bio in comparison?

    cratedigger,
    @cratedigger@mastodon.xyz avatar

@Leisureguy @wetshaving I've never used Figaro. The Proraso red is sandalwood, I believe. I tried it but preferred the cream to the soap. I'm quite fond of the original Cella (red tub). I will probably try the Bio when it's time to restock.

@Leisureguy @wetshaving Yes, there was such an explosion of vendors, I couldn't keep up. I got out of the race and picked one soap, one blade, one razor, and one aftershave I could be happy with.

@j258853 @wetshaving @Leisureguy Nice, I use a Merkur, too - don't remember the model but not the 34c - mine has a slightly longer, thinner handle. Occasionally I swap in a Gillette slim adjustable. Gillette 7 O'clock green blades have been the best balance of sharp and smooth I've found. As always, YMMV depending on skin and beard type!

I am very cost conscious as well. The Cella is like $11 or $12 and lasts forever.

@Leisureguy @wetshaving That's a great, economical brush! I used one until I had to throw it out - long story.
