Really HTMX is the Big Deal for WordPress?

I just read this article on HTMX being a big deal for WordPress and I just don't see it. To vastly simplify the article, give the code below and using the HTMX JavaScript library:

@ramsey Yes it is but somehow it’s “better” than doing standard AJAX requests.

Lou on the iPad Release
While I don’t think the new iPad release is compelling I also agree with Lou

Don’t let anyone else tell you how you should feel or use your personal technology.

Use what works for you. Enjoy it without shame. This goes for anything you enjoy that’s not harmful to others.

Enjoy the music you enjoy or the movies you enjoy, even if others say they’re terrible.

Good freaking lord, Microsoft shutting down 3 game studios they acquired in recent years, some of which have just released their best work (Tango, particularly).

The M4 iPad Pro is Faster
So the new iPad Pro is faster and has a better screen and is thinner. All things I would expect for an incremental upgrade.

Reading further through the reports about the iPad I see nothing that makes it a compelling purchase to replace my M1 iPad Pro. I bet I’ll still have issues with some websites via Safari, particularly WordPress which I use to run this sit

@chris So you think pay less because “AI does it" or not pay developers at all because you hire less?

There should be a way to tell the watch - “Listen, I’m sick this week, so no need to present doomsday scenarios.”

    Plus, I’m wondering what’s gonna happen, if I reach 0 points - will I … just … die? 😬

@preslavrachev I had to turn those notes off as it tells me much of the week I'm near 0 but my HR and Power numbers on the bike respond as expected for someone training hard.

AI is Eating itself now – (Members)
I'm skeptical of widely useful AI, and even more so as AI is eating itself now. The article linked is a great look at how AI isn't as hot as startup companies would have us believe. Sure it helped my write a script to protect client sites from DDOS attacks this week, but I couldn't simply unleash it on our server infrastructure and tell it to "make it better". In fact I

    Nothing beats experience
Matt tells an excellent story about fixing his furnace that relates very much to learning anything. While Matt was able to fix some of the issues with his furnace, some were beyond his time spent on YouTube researching. After the HVAC came for the final problem, he fixed it by hitting it with a wrench.

@chris One time many years ago (when I was employee 6 at 10up) a saw mill in Chilliwack BC had a fire. It sat on top of the only internet line into town so almost no place in town had internet for 3 days.

Starbucks had slow satellite so that was the only place I could work but even that was so slow due to congestion so I had to drive 30 minutes to the next city to find reliable internet.

All I needed was a moose and a mountie involved for a more Canadian reason to not work.

I first saw the news from 404media that Automattic was going to start selling user content to AI companies looking for data. As with most media companies, 404 failed to make the distinction between Automattic/WordPress.com and WordPress.org the open source software.

For the record (pun intended), what is called a "post" in #WordPress and is used in #Automattic's terms and conditions is what other frameworks would refer to as "objects" or "records".

"Custom post types" are "models" in the context of MVC patterns.

Blog posts and news articles are posts. Images are posts. Contact form submissions are posts. Customer purchases in #WooCommerce are posts.

@alda and VaultPress isn’t up to date for PHP 8.2 so throws errors all over the place. I've had to turn it off on customer sites and go with other solutions instead.
