Ok, I made that last one up. Found this ash branch loaded with them as they age from a dirty brick red to black. The second picture is if you slice one open - you see concentric rings, like a tree.

@MonaApp Are you going to be able to pin down the Update Banner Photo bug that got introduced with the recent big update? Is there any kind of workaround that folks can do in the meantime?

@MonaApp So I pulled 2 old phones out of my shed and loaded Mona. Here are 2 different results:

*iPhone 5s running 12.5.5 has same bug (The 5s is smaller than my current 12 mini)

*iPhone 6 running 12.5.5 does NOT have bug (The 6 is larger than my 12 mini)

So maybe it has to do with phone size, screen size?

@MonaApp That’s it! I currently use Larger Text as the 12 mini screen is a bit small for these late 50s eyes. I switched it to Standard Text and now can edit the banner photo. Excellent! I don’t know if you can readjust the size on your end, but if not, switching display size on my end isn’t that difficult.
Thanks for looking into this. I’m guessing it doesn’t impact too many folks. At least until they all get older :)

@RiversideBryan There is a lot going on in this photo! The way the sign is tucked under the bridge 👍🏽 and the combo of plants, metal, concrete, graffiti and color. Plus I’ve never seen a blue guardrail! Great shot.

After the bear came traipsing through my front yard, word must have gotten out to all the local forest creatures, that this is where the wild things go.

This porcupine owned it.

A 12 second video shot through a house window of a porcupine ambling through my yard. It’s walking along the edge of the grass and forest. You can make out its quills against its dark fur.

Though I tend to take walks in the woods, I do enjoy finding an old New England meadow that is still being maintained. There are always a few large trees on the edges and perhaps in the middle that marked property lines or were allowed to grow to shade farming animals.

Here, all the large trees are dead but some of their giant frames still tower over their surroundings.

Split Gills [Schizophyllum commune] are one of those mushrooms that, like Turkey Tail, can be dismissed as dreadfully boring. BUT, then you see a fruiting like this and you’re reminded of seashells and wildflowers.
