Decided to go back to the past & got a new old 8 track tape player. For those who have never encountered this gem of portable music, a video tour. More background: 4 main tracks or programs with different music on each track (and eight tracks in all because each main track has two, right & left, for that awesome stereophonic sound). Want to hear your fav song again? Wait until it rolls around again. No fast forward (typically) & no be kind rewind as no rewind. #8tracktape #eightracktape #music

Showing how an eight track changes between tracks, automatically changes tracks and fades out of a song is too long for a track then changes to a new track to fade up and continue the song

Paddleboard Death Valley! Lake Manly has been reborn, drawing kayakers, tourists & me with my paddleboard. Just in time for super high winds. I put in just past Badwater. I had to remove my big main fin to keep from dragging. And eventually … open water! I couldn’t stand for long, as it was so windy plus I kept dragging if I tried. Went for about a mile - fantastic!

Fortunate to be in Reykjavik for New Year’s. We’d heard the are fireworks amazing & they were. Also enjoyed the traditional Áramótaskaupið news comedy special that virtually everyone here watches at 10:30pm on New Year’s Eve. Our taxi driver told us you know it’s on because all the fireworks stop for an hour and — true! Didn’t catch all the references but what we did was very funny (thanks RÚV 2 for having it with English subtitles). Happy New Year to you all. #NYE #reykjavik #iceland
