Do you know of a book recommendation engine that will suggest fiction books based on the non-fiction books I read and like?
I want to get more into fiction, and it’s been hard to nail down books that can keep my interest beyond the first few chapters. Thanks in advance! And please boost for wider exposure.

@realTuckFrumper in a normal election year, I would fully support this sentiment. But this is not another election. This is an election that will determine whether democracy lives on in America. A non-vote for Biden is a vote for the wannabe dictator, and we will all be worse off with him and his cronies in charge. And what is to say the dictator won’t double down on Israel’s attack on Gaza then? In that scenario, a non vote for Biden accomplishes nothing but demolishing democracy in the USA.

Do your children or goods inheritors a huge favor. Recycle, shred, and otherwise sort all your old paperwork. My mother-in-law, rest her soul, retained seemingly every piece of paper across 50+ years of her personal and professional life. I can see why: most of it was useful for a few months to even a decade later. But then 100% pointless for her or anyone else. There's a huge effort to go in and process that…so she didn't. Now her children have put in ~100s of hours in processing it.

@glennf my siblings and I moved our parents to an independent living community a few years ago. The four of us (plus spouses) all came to help clean out the house. I had vertigo at that time, so I got the job of sorting and shredding. I kid you not - it took me 5 full days to sort and shred their 30+ years of papers and statements. Ironically, the two most important pieces of papers were not among the pile that I had to sort - the title to their car and their house!

Durian Fruit, vintage botanical illustration circa 1815. This beautiful fruit is renowned for it's strong aroma and unique flavor profile. I haven't been brave enough to try it yet.

@DeborahLeagueFineArt I grew up in Malaysia and looked forward to the durian season every year. However, the picture you posted looks more like a Jackfruit than a Durian. It’s the interior that gives it away. Both are delicious, in my opinion, but one of them is definitely an acquired taste. Thanks for highlighting the tropical fruits of my childhood. Definitely brings back very fond memories…
