All human beings have value and deserve basic human rights.

We must work proactively to identify and correct systems that prevent people from exercising their rights.

This isn't complicated and it shouldn't be controversial.

I think the hard part about these ideas for some people is that human rights are universal. "Even them?" Yes, even them. "What about...?" Yes, them too. "But surely you can't mean...?" All people, everyone, no exceptions.

I'm rarely. I drink a lot of water, but I also don't leave the house for more than a few hours at a time, and carrying water feels like a hassle.

Reminder for underrepresented folk feeling sad discovering that some of the "founders" of Open Source are also open eugencists. Don't feel so sad! Because a lot of founders of Open Source are openly and vocally disdainful of those eugenicists, racists, and other bigots. ♥️👍🏿

There are a lot of different personalities in Open Source. And given the demographics of what OSS looked like back in the days, the percentage of bigots is higher than the public at large.

I really liked the framing that equality isn't as important when everyone has enough. However, I don't think we're there, and inequality highlights that fact, so I think equality (or its lack) is very important.
