This is an interesting one! I don't know what I expected, but these numbers seem higher that I would have guessed. That's about 1/3 of people lifting weights weekly or more often. I didn't know it was that popular.

I had a delicious and affirming conversation today with someone who understands that we have to stop viewing every tree as a good tree and that plunking down trees in places that should be covered with grasses and other native plant species is reckless and harmful to already devastated ecosystems.

It’s so rare to find people who get it.

I want to give a shout out to exposure notifications, the API Apple and Google created at the beginning of the pandemic. Well scoped. In close collaboration with domain experts. Privacy protecting. Measurably helped, maybe not as much as hoped, but still. And now being responsibly shut down, as promised.

We should praise folks when tech is done right. I want to see more of this responsible deployment of tech.

    @jwildeboer you're mostly correct. The 'content' of an object is usually HTML, with an optional 'source' to show the original source of the content (such as Markdown). It's also possible to set a MIME type on the content, and then it can be anything, but the 'summary' should always be HTML.

    @mc_frontalot so, I make software for a living.

    With ChatGPT, I can give a rough description of a program I want to write, and it will give a pretty good approximation of the right code.

    I can tell it things to change, and after a while it stops making good changes, and eventually I have to finish by hand. It's maybe 80% or 90% done.

    I tell you this because I wonder: is that what it's like working with the music AI?

    If you're one of the many people who know and respect @assaf Assaf Arkin, please pray for him, hold him in your heart, or think kind thoughts.

    His partner Zoë shared on Facebook yesterday that he was hit by a car while walking in their neighborhood. He was very badly hurt in the accident and is currently in the ICU.
