Well, I'm bored, but surprised to find out that it's easy to start doing some GUI programming using with .

I've been convinced for a while that was dead, but seems to be working fairly ok.

Run the following example on on a box with qt6 libraries installed: https://gist.github.com/vascorsd/1ae097030f51da40007ab74505d148da

It properly shows a basic window with an hello world message, so, success 🎉😅?

(I'm running on which has qt 6.6.1 libraries installed)

Yesterday night I created automated build pipeline using Actions. It feels so wrong to use proprietary platform to develop . What kind of alternatives there are?

I updated my -like management tool. Fixed two embarrasing bugs. Now I hope someone tries to use this and tells how it works. I'm still waiting for my first user to appear!

However, Meld and Gimp don't get any corporate backing. Especially for libre graphics it would be very vital to have someone sponsoring Gimp (as well as Krita etc).

Meld has only one hobbyist maintainer as far as I know.

A propos nothing, I just remembered debugging kernel raid1 modules using gdb and User Mode Linux two decades ago.

Ah well.

Time to go back to reviewing powerpoint slides and too many Slack channels, I guess.

Hard drive partition got corrupted after and update. Might just be easier to reinstall than to fix it. Even long term… what should we install? Fedora again or something else?

@cjerrington I always recommend Ubuntu when people ask. It has broadest support in internet and via Debian a big selection of different packages. Steam works as well, and you can get wide selection of proprietary software via Snaps if you want (or are forced to use) those.
