So here's a thing y'all...

I don't talk about this much because I suck at promoting myself, but for those of you who weren't aware, I published some books. Three of them are a fantasy trilogy still available via Carina Press, under the pen name of Angela Highland. The other two are books 1 and 2 of an urban fantasy series, self-published under my actual name, Angela Korra'ti.

And since I continue to be unemployed AF right now, if I could make anything at all off of sales to new readers, that'd sure be super helpful right now.

So this is a promo thread about my books.

just do it because you’re making art. it’ll either “catch on” or not. in my case it’s not. (note that I make aural, not visual) art. but the concept remains the same.

don’t let “imposter syndrome” stop you, or even slow you down. you’re making ART.

yeah, I’d like a bit more remuneration, but that doesn’t mean I’m not making art.

we’re both doing something that brings a ray of light to a dismal world. if they don’t dig it, it’s not our problem.

for cross-author streams in fiction, check out the Thieves World series. I think it was curated(?) by Robert Asprin. started appearing in the late 1970s.

I know there’s been other similar works, but that’s the one that springs readily to my mind.

coming up in a couple days will be a situation where I’d like to include two pictures. I’ve found that a threaded multi-toot is sketchy at best.

thanks for your help, but none of them worked even as well as Metatext. the official app said, “that username is already taken.” several wouldn’t let me post anything after logging in, and one wanted lots of money on a subscription basis. I wouldn’t object to passing on some bucks now and then, but I’m a musician living in a musical wasteland. I don’t make much money.

maybe I’ll just blog it on my Ko-Fi page and post that link.

McConnell has passed his sell by date. I have a rant on things I believe should change in the U.S. government. it’s too long to fit in a toot, but one of them is strict term limits.

I made a single-page PNG version of the bagel recipe I made yesterday since I can attach that but can't attach a PDF. (eta: Open original and print; it's 300 DPI and fits on one page of paper.)

It includes a couple of things I learned too.

ah. I suspected as much. I will do all but the printing out ASAP. neither me or my sweetie have time for such things as long as the old bat is still breathing. but she won’t last forever and we’ll be able to live our lives again.

and yes, she’ll manage to make some kind of a big deal out of us actually cooking something that takes that kind of time.

she’s put both of us on our last good nerve and we tread carefully just to try to avoid the infamous urge to kill.

that all sounds grand. my hope is that the instance I’m on will eventually increase the character limit.

many of my toots feel like I’m trying trying to squeeze them down to birdsite levels. wouldn’t be so bad if I knew how to do multiple toot threads that worked well. though I’m most likely missing something there. I try not to blame the software when it may well be my aging brain.

    A small town mayor in Alabama killed himself after a conservative web site published pictures of him in women’s clothing and make-up. The closet is a hard place to be, and outing anyone can be very harmful. We need a society where it’s okay to be who you want to be so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. Is that so hard to imagine?

    that’s just plain wrong. I’m a cis/het white boy and seeing this kind of crap doesn’t make me sad, it makes me angry. wish I knew what I could do about (except on a personal basis), but I’m not going to be convinced to shun people either for their melanin content or who they fall in love with.

    not because I’m all special, just that I’m too greedy to cut folks out of my life for such spurious reasons.

    well, after too many round trips on the stairs, too much fussing about getting the second camera (first use of my non-phone iPhone) to pass the video over to the iPad (camera one and editing platform), I’ve finally got a new video “in the can.”

    it’s not edited yet. I think I need to nap before tackling that. I love , but it can be a tad fussy and it almost always takes more time than I thought it would.

    also, it’s the first appearance of my and I’m chuffed about that.
