@girlonthenet I feel as though there used to be more sharing. I am talking from the point of view of someone who is not getting feedback and should probably "read the room" and pack up. My stats and any feedback is minimal and bleak.

It doesn't need to be quid pro quo and I make sure that I don't use that sort of transactional approach.

so, to the and communities on Fedi.

I ordered a device called a BT Speak about a week ago. It is a PDA-like device, with an 8-dot Perkins style Braille keyboard and speech output for the visually impaired.

When I got the device, it did not boot, and I contacted the company about it.

I was able to get the device working again by myself rather quickly, however here in lies the reason for my post.

The company were so quick to respond that a replacement unit is already on the way.

After some discussion, what has been decided is that I will be donating the replacement device, brand new, to a visually impaired child who may not be able to procure assistive technology via other means.

Turns out that posture and movement matter. I spent 8 days of 14 hours at a time at my computer to meet deadline. Now I can't move and my body hurts.

This is a genuine question because I know that I overthink.

If someone says that they think you are hot but only ever post and boost body types that are nowhere even similar to yours, do you believe them?

I struggle to believe that people who, over months of image sharing have only posted/boosted slender models mean it when they say that they like mine.

My images contain fat.

@Mollysdailykiss When all the images are slender and young, it makes me not trust their compliments. It takes me back to the occasions where people used compliments as a bullying tactic in front of others.

I absolutely don't think I ma being bullied but it can very easily feel like mockery.

@girlonthenet As someone hugely effected by the one that was cancelled yesterday, I am celebrating. The LTN was absolutely the wrong thing for there and caused problems that were beyond any benefit. It was not vocal pricks who were losing jobs, missing appointments, etc.

@girlonthenet I totally understand the intention and can list multiple examples where there are benefits. However implementing them where public transport is already at capacity at peak hours and alternative routes are also at capacity is catastrophic and leads to people losing jobs, missing important appointments, organisations being unable to recruit etc.

@girlonthenet I wasn't claiming "inconvenience". I don't consider bus journeys that should take 30 mins for 3 miles turning into 2 hrs just inconvenience. I don't consider emergency services not being able to respond because of miles of ripple effect gridlock and inconvenience. I could add so much more.

I'm properly knocked for six by the government's plans for pension age change. I come from a family that does not have a history of longevity. Even if I make it to 70, still working to that age will reduce my life expectancy.
