I'm just hoping this doesn't end up being the first step of many. But time will tell, I suppose. Would hope the German regulators could be reasoned with, but of course simply the fact that this happened must eat some confidence on future.

I hate how whenever US liberals defend immigrants they have to say how hard working they are. I just want it to be known that I support immigrants who are just as lazy, if not even lazier, than me.

There's a liberal idea that you* should be able to say anything, talk anyone, go anywhere, and as long as you're not outright threatening to kill someone, they have to take it.

That's the whole idea of capitalism-as-a-disease: not liking us poisoning the river?You can always move.

Moving to somewhere isn't just about where you want to go, it's also about does the community and society want you there.

Melkoinen romahdus.

Muistan kun 2010 vitsailtiin "sarjakuvalla menevän lujaa" (taitelijat oli Paloniemeä, Korhosta ja Jarlaa lukuunottamatta silloinkin palkkakuopassa).

Nyt kirjakaupoissa ei ole edes väle sarjakuvaa varten omaa huonekalua, vaan yksi hylly jaettuna aikuisten värityskirjojen kanssa. Lehtipisteitä ei ole enää esim. R:llä tai monissa lähikaupoissa.

Ja nyt kirjojen alvia nostetaan taas.

Sarjikset on yksi lukemisen porttihuume.

Toisaalta en haluaisi myöskään pyörittää serveriä, kun en usko teknisiin kykyihini ylläpitää sitä kriisitilanteissa, tai luottaa viestihistoriaani jonkun (puoli)tuntemattoman pulssin ja/tai kiinnostuksen varaan.

I think today I’m first time dealing with : My job is perfect for being replaced by AI.

Sure, it will do a much shittier job than I do, but all the problems will be in time manageable by engineering.

Sure, I will pick up new skills and become a director of AI assistants instead. I’ll get paid less and less per line of code though.

But what I do will become a curiosity. Hand-written code will still be needed when the machine does something stupid, but that will be the exception.

Perhaps off-topic, but some days ago I had a discussion where the other person stated how for example studying engineering didn't just teach how to calculate (for example) structural tolerances, but also logical thinking, implication being that this was a skill that humanist studies lacked.

Afterwards I started wondering what exactly is "logical thinking" and how does it differ from the more holistic approach taught in the sciences, humanities, and arts?

Vilkaisin taas twitteriä. Virhe. Ihmiset siellä puhuvat edelleen "nettoveronmaksajaista" ja kuinka näiden ei tulisi joutua maksamaan siitä että muut eivät tee enempää työtä.

Tiedän että yhteiskuntaopin taso tässä maassa on tietoisesti matala, mutta toivoisi että olisi tiedossa että viennin yms. korkeat palkat ovat mahdollisia koska alkutuotannossa palkat ovat jopa orjatyövoimaa (mm. marjanpoiminta tiloilla ja metsissä; maatalouden vuosipalkat ilman tukia).

Puhe "nettoveronmaksajista" on tikkaiden vetämistä perässä ylös ja polttamista roviolla.

Asemiin on parhaissakin tapauksissa päästy julkisen maksamalla koulutuksella, turvallisella elinympäristöllä, ja kriisitilanteet ratkaisevalla sotella (itse olisin kuollut vähintään kahdesti ennen 10. ikävuottani ilman erityissairaanhoitoa ja olen nyt ns. perusterve); välillä osa näistä korvattu hyvällä onnella tai nepotismilla.

Liittyen Mastodonin hiljentymiseen: huomasin juuri että osin vika saattaa olla myös kulttuurieroista: käyttäjiä seuraavat käyttäjät eivät näköjään juuri käytä tageja, jolloin kaltaiseni asiasanakeskeiset jäävät ihmettelemään hiljaista etusivua.

Minulla on kaksi asiaa jotka vaivaavat Mastodonissa:

  • Käyttäjillä on korkea kynnys kommentoida tai tykätä viesteistä. Tavallaan korkea signal-to-noise on hyvä, mutta kaipaan ihmiskontakteja muuten kuin jakojen ja täydennysten kautta.

  • Ainoa tapa vähentää ihmiskontakteja on blokkaus tai hiljennys, jolloin halutun käyttäjän viestejä ei näe. Vaihtoehtoa jossa esim. halutun henkilön tykkäyksistä tai yhteydenotoista ei tule ilmoitusta ei kai ole.

Liittyvätkö nämä huomiot toisiinsa?

Sinänsä ei yllätä. RKP ja Kokoomus ovat perinteisesti vastustaneet harmaan talouden tutkimista, mistä tehty mennä vuosina myös paljastuksia.

Sinänsä sopivaa että tämä uutinen tuli samana päivänä kun otsikoissa oli erään kansanedustajan pakastinkylmä käteinen.

Tässä kohtaa on myös hyvä muistaa että harmaan talouden työryhmä on yksi niistä harvoista rikoksia tutkivista alueista jotka tuottavat enemmän kuin kuluttavat. Eli toisinsanoen säästöt ovat miinusmerkkisiä.

En tee tästä kyselyä koska uskon laadullisiin tutkimuksiin määrällisten yli, mutta toivon vastauksia. Olen kuullut jo yli kymmenen vuotta että tietyt tyypit ei omista kyniä ensinkään, mutta heidän määränsä on kuulemma lisääntymässä.
