@ai6yr I suspect pretty much no one in Malibu felt it, either. Under 3.0 is VERY hard for humans to feel unless they're like very still in the middle of nowhere close to the epicenter. 'S why a lot of people don't actually know how very active a lot of faults and volcanic systems are!

Second adjuster for the insurance company called, walked through the damages again, looks like due to the damage it's now on to a third adjuster (large loss adjuster). Plumbing disaster here looks like it's going to be a pretty major project due to the number of walls affected. (personal disaster of no impact on anyone else, but oversharing here anyway, LOL)

Sigh. Restoration company saying this is going to be a big job. All the carpet will have to come out, and ceilings and walls in several of the rooms. And I caught it within an hour and a half of the break.

(Sorry but every time disabled people are an afterthought in urban planning it makes me scream because e.g. crosswalks that aren't perfectly level with pavement are fine for most bikes+walking ppl, but fuck my powerchair up if they're too obstructing. A too steep ramp sucks. The drain off tilt of sidewalks & FUCKING DRIVEWAY cutouts ugh. Etc.)

Mm went to a low population sober glow party and chair danced for most of like. 3 hours. (I masked. I saw... one other.)

I even dressed up and did not get up and dance once. Felt too awkward (thx brain) but I got compliments on my earrings and apparently I was getting "damn they're hot" looks. 😅 (I did not register them (thx autism) but spouse did lol.)

For the #mechanically #disinclined -- #seatbelts lock, mechanically, based on the amount of force you put on them. I know of (multiple!) people who have issues with this, because they are violently grabbing the seatbelt to put it on quickly (thus locking the seatbelt). Pulling it harder just locks it more. The trick is to SLOWLY and SMOOTHLY pull the seatbelt out and then secure yourself. No, there's nothing wrong with the seatbelt... it's their seatbelt technique.
