Does anybody on the fedi Laravel community knows Aaron Francis? It's really sad that his (awesome) fast-paginate package seems abandoned like this, maybe just a statement acknowledging he can't/doesn't want to maintain it anymore can make the community fork it to keep it maintained. This L11 support PR has been opened and unanswered for 2 months already.
Summing it up, there's a vulnerability (CVE-2024-2961) on glibc that, apparently, can be used to get RCE on servers running PHP.
It's recommended that you update glibc to a patched version.
I wonder how big is the carbon footprint of all the "platform formerly known as Twitter" written over the last months (and what's to come) as opposed to just "Twitter"
Did I just receive an email from Salesforce where my entire company's slack members seems to be on CC together with other companies? There are ~200 emails on that cc :picardfacepalm:
I actually think is a good thing Twitter is no longer a thing because now it's easier to mourn it for what it was instead of what it has become. This gives us closure people!
Ok, this is a smart workaround to avoid unnecessary polyfills on your #PHP projects. It always bothered me to have no way to avoid symfony/polyfill-mbstring and symfony/polyfill-ctype even though my systems always have the necessary extensions. Well, this fixes that :)
Oh, wow, I did not expect the OpenGraph spec to restrict the "gender" field to two values (male/female). I mean, it was created by Facebook so idk why I'm surprised but why not make it more flexible? 🤷
We didn't even start federating with Facebook and it already feels unfathomable for some people that we wouldn't have access to their millions of people.
Basically, one of the strongest tools of the fedi is already out of the table because no matter what they do, how would we dare lose access to The People & The Brands??
Moderation will be back to being individual labor instead of community protection 🥲
