@gamingonlinux for me company size isn’t the measure, it’s where the funding is coming from. If you’re self funded, you’re independent.

Edit: so I agree Dave the Diver isn’t an indie title if Nexon was involved in publishing because publishing costs money that the developers didn’t pay or do themselves “independently”.

I hear you but by every definition of the word, a developer with external financial support isn’t the independent equal of one without.

If the person supplying the money isn’t the developer, then they’re a partner and the developer is no longer independent, period.

But whatever, I agree “indie” nowadays just refers to any smallish developer with a smallish budget and has nothing to do with the definition of the word. “Indie” music went through the same thing.

I finished editing and uploading the video. It's now processing. It's going to release on Sunday morning at 6:50am CST.

I wish had a way to allow playlist views to not count in our view history.

No, not for that.

I have a playlist of 'funny essays' I like to put on in the bkg while I play some games, or some parts of games (like farming or doing basic stuff). Stuff like Elvis the Alien, Indeimaus, Space Ice, Storymode, etc.

But I've watched and rewatched videos on this playlist easily 1-2 dozen times now. I don't want them reappearing in History every time.

@InfiniteHench honestly don’t know how incognito works, I think you’re still logged in but you can toggle it on and off? I don’t really know what it does though. I assumed it was so you could watch random things without it messing up your feed algorithm. I always forget to toggle it to try.

Fun couple days hiking with my cousin in the Sierra. Great to catch up.

He moved to BC at 18, built mountain skills, got certs, worked ski patrol, worked mountain rescue, and eventually became the lead avalanche forecaster and technician for the entire Lake Louise resort for 15 years (dropping explosives from helis every morning to open the runs) 🤯

Now for the past 5 years he’s transitioned to his “retirement” career as a lead backcountry heli ski guide because “it’s less stress” 🤯

Update for the zero people following

My favorite thing is being a beginner so I’m having fun.

So far:

  • got recommended noob radio & antenna
  • learning to listen
  • learning general chatter, emergency, and satellite frequencies
  • learning to track satellite passes
  • starting to hear a couple weather satellites
  • hoping to hear bounces off ISS in half an hour

Thanks to the Fedi hams that have inspired me 🤗

Got some beeps off NOAA-19 also this morning so I’m feeling comfortable with this satellite tracking app now. ISS was too low on the horizon I think? It’s back in a bit a lot higher, we’ll see.

I just caught chatter bounced off amsat AO-91 though. That was really cool. There was nothing, then suddenly some chop sounds, then call signs everywhere back and forth. WD9EWK from Scottsdale, AZ was the most clear and communicative with everyone.

It’s so nice hearing humans being civil with each other.

@ai6yr @exador23 yeah that’s the top of the final chimney on the mountaineer route. It’s labeled on most trail maps, you’ll see it if you pan to the summit and follow the trail that curves north.

Picked up an overnight Sierra permit so I wouldn’t do anything stupid like drive all the way to Utah for the eclipse.

Having a lazy breakfast at home before going so I don’t do any stupid long big run climb. Just want to go be lazy on a particularly scenic sub peak so I have to make sure I get there when it’s too late to do anything but that.

These are the things I do to outsmart myself. I think I’m winning?
