What is the stupidest, most dangerous teen shit you ever did?

For me, I am pretty sure it is when at 15, I car surfed on top of my friend's Ford Explorer on a highway going at speed.

Honestly, it is a wonder I didn't fall off and die.

@dave Yikes. Getting hit would have been bad enough. Getting hit by a cop and then likely arrested would not have been great!

AOL CDs as frisbees, yup that sounds like 2001.

Okay. Fire hazard. Nice.

How did I not know that Tenchi Muyo OVA, started in 1992, had its most recent season in 2020-2021, which I haven't seen!

Guess it's time for a rewatch of something I haven't seen in nearly 30 years.

screams That damn Britishism I was just complaining about.

jezebelkat,
@jezebelkat@famichiki.jp avatar

@YamaguchiSake No way. The whole is COMPRISED OF its parts.

"A whole comprises its parts" is backwards.

The parts comprise the whole.

I'm sorry, the dictionary is wrong. At least in my dialect.

jezebelkat,
@jezebelkat@famichiki.jp avatar

@YamaguchiSake

Looks like this is a long-standing argument. I always assumed it was a Britishism. I have never heard an American use it differently from me:

@FlockOfCats @YamaguchiSake

"There is considerable evidence of comprised of in well-edited publications throughout the 20th century:"

I have always used it, and I am sure I have used it in academic writing with no pushback at all.

At this point, it is a correct usage, as long as it is understood to be.

So many people lining up to see the new Margot Robbie movie. Which is fair enough. After all, summertime is...

[Lowers shades]

Barbie queue season

@Garwboy Well, you could go see that other movie instead.

I hear it's The Bomb.

Sorry for not tooting very often. I am keeping the negative off Mastodon.

The paradigm shift is a slow transition.

A modest proposal for your consideration.

All countries should adopt the Danish outlet as the true international standard.

My evidence is strong:

Happy electrical outlet from Denmark.
Happy electrical outlet from Denmark.

Everyone's talked plenty about the iphone apps for Mastodon, but I don't recall seeing any discussion about the apps. Is the official app for Android as bad as the one for iphone? I imagine there are alternatives there too.

jezebelkat,
@jezebelkat@famichiki.jp avatar

@TomatoGrilledCheese It's not great, but I am using it with the assumption it is growing pains.

Really weird clickbaity headline on CNN…I guess just writing “Japan” would be too informative?

Why not go all in:
This country raised the age of consent from 13, and what happened next will surprise you!

jezebelkat,
@jezebelkat@famichiki.jp avatar

@FlockOfCats it's only half true at best. All prefectures have had a higher age of consent for decades. Sensationalism for sensationalism's sake.

Lots of people in my work and social circles are. I worry less for me, more for them.
