"We value your privacy" and "1556 partners". Probably not even a record.
E_OVERFLOW
Look, I can understand a dozen partners, one for analytics, one for telemetry, a few for logins, a handful of privacy-respecting ad networks. But I challenge anyone building such a site to convince me separately about the need to involve 1556 other companies.
@chris Oh that's comfortable, we had 31C recently. We always get like a week in May with hot temperatures then it goes back to cold for a bit and then blazing until September!
@chris The climate change is happening here too. I've noticed it year over year the changes. What I was used to as a kid and young adult, is not what is happening now.
"Our plan is to grow the Ubuntu Desktop team by at least another 50% over the next year and we are opening a range of positions across all levels of seniority in the coming weeks. At Canonical we think the future is bright for the Linux desktop and if you have the passion and skills to be at the cutting edge of performance, security, immutability and accessibility then we want to hear from you."
https://phanpy.social is a pretty incredible Mastodon client. Entirely web based, looks great on mobile and desktop, you can configure your shortcuts that appear above or below the river of news.
Some screenshots from my own account: good notifications page, different kinds of toots get a different status, plus Boosts are shown in their own carousel.
I've heard one developer made all this, it's pretty incredible.
@alabut@mathowie@ivory Ivory was my main daily app too but having Phanpy on all my devices works better for me. All these features like Catch Up, make my daily use here better. Ivory locks me to only Apple devices which makes it hard to stay in sync on other devices.
I stopped using Ivory and won't renew my subscription when it ends.
@cinimodev So funny, I was reading your blog post (April 29th) about movies and how you like Road House, I checked my media server and I had it in my library! Watching it now.
I gotta say.. it’s fucking scary to see the far right rise so fast in so many countries with such extremes
We have had 2 world wars with so many deaths that also started with such ‘ideas’ and ‘thoughts’, we cannot and may not let that happen ever again
Unfortunately I don’t have the answers but I really much wish we could find some common ground and cool down things before it gets even further out of hand
🪑⑁💺 Looking for home office chair recommendations. 🪑⑁💺
I work from home full time. I spend 8 hour plus extra at night sometimes for study sessions / programming hobbies. Fairly regular sized person, looking for back support - I currently sit at the edge of my seat for some reason. Probably not good.
Willing to spend some money on this, although I will mumble and grumble about it.
@box464 I have a bad back and the best chair I've used is the Herman Miller Aeron Chair. I lucked out getting it on a sale but it has lasted me 10 years already.
