- Weekend events thread: Memorial Day 2024 Edition. There's a ton going on around town, but what's on your radar, ?

Friday's going to be hot again in the mid 80s, but Saturday and Sunday should be cooler/cloudier in the mid-upper 70s. Memorial Day Monday might have rainy afternoon cookouts, in the upper 60s.

What are the blockers from getting local political discourse migrated onto the fediverse?

Like, I live in #SomervilleMA - and we don't yet have any #SomervilleCityCouncil folks here yet, afaik. But most of them are relatively active still on birdsite?

We've got an election cycle coming up locally this fall, and I'm loathe to resume activity over on Twitter. #MAPoli #Somerville

I love the form factor of my little iPhone 12 Mini …but I am so ready for a phone that doesn’t constantly overheat and run out of batteries like 7 times a day

@misc as a data point - my 12 pro max was a refurb which I got in December 2022 and the battery lasts for a good day and a half without a charge, fwiw.
But, i'm a homebody - I use it all the time, usually on wifi which seems to help with battery life. I try to remember to wipe it annually to prolong...

Best luck shopping or troubleshooting.

Despite breathless reporting by our local media outlets, I continue to not see the big deal about the gauge issue for the .

The problem is a bummer but it sounds super fixable, and folks are making a big deal over a nothingburger story. Folks seem to be getting outraged for reasons I don't understand. Y'all had bad requirements document and now have bad results, so to be safe you've got to move a bunch of rail over a eighth inch.

I dislike the part about firehose ephemeral social media where you see something, scroll away, and since infinite scroll is a thing or you otherwise navigate away - its ....gone, poof. And you might be able to re-find it if you're lucky, but Search is inconsistently applied.

Q: Are there any Mastodon apps/interfaces/forks that keep tabs on, like, your last 1000 posts seen (e.g. actually displayed on your viewer for more than .5 sec), maybe across the enhanced web interface?

Its this weekend, and judging by the absence of posts on this hashtag - either the lineup this year sucks, or the bands are not targeting the millennial-genX-tech-nerd-lefty demographic here.
