When I read that article, my assumption was that people rated all the presidents whose name they recognized and then they just filled in the rest. Your point is valid and I agree with the idea but it requires that people know the policies and impact of each president.

lemmydripzdotz123,

I retract my uninformed comment. Thank you.

I suspect you would enjoy the story of Furbeowulf.

www.trygve.com/furbeowulf.html

That page is old enough that it doesn’t seem to support HTTPS. If your browser automatically converts HTTP to HTTPS, you’re going to get a warning about an insecure connection. Here’s a wayback machine link that supports a secure connection:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_mass_index

Adolphe Quetelet, a Belgian astronomer, mathematician, statistician, and sociologist, devised the basis of the BMI between 1830 and 1850 as he developed what he called “social physics”.[3] Quetelet himself never intended for the index, then called the Quetelet Index, to be used as a means of medical assessment.

Keys explicitly judged BMI as appropriate for population studies and inappropriate for individual evaluation. Nevertheless, due to its simplicity, it has come to be widely used for preliminary diagnoses.

The original data set is from mostly adult European men that was then generalized as applying to all humans. Spoiler alert: It does not.

This is what a winner does. This is how you can tell Russia is winning.

I believe they are pointing out that, despite the fact that this is being done by a group that is trying to make Trump look bad, it will be viewed as making him look good to those on the far right. They like dictators so long as they’re part of the in-group.

Hephaestus seems the most likely to leave me alone. The gods are so capricious that I’d prefer to not have their attention.

They said he couldn’t move the Georgia RICO case to federal court, making it less likely that any other defendant will be able to, either. It can still go to the Supreme Court which may change things. Saved you a click.

“I am calling for clarifying legislation to be adopted in accordance with our State Constitution that prohibits satanic displays in our Capitol building and on all state owned property. I am calling for legislation to be adopted that makes it legal to display the Ten Commandments in our Capitol, in all buildings owned by the state, and in our public schools.”

That a single, continuous quote from a state representative. In two back-to-back sentences, they said that the religious display is unconstitutional and it should be legal to have a religious display. Amazing.

It can’t be used with ProtonVPN (I assume) but I use NoRoot Firewall for exactly this purpose. It works by setting up a VPN and letting you enable / disable network access for each app, including system apps. It can also block on just WiFi or just cell data or both or neither. It blocks all apps by default until you configure their access. You can also setup more advanced rules for all apps or just some apps. For instance, you can set it where an app can contact AppCompany.com but not Google.com

I assume the label is applied upside down and the pull tab is on the other side. Cans are two pieces with the bottom and walls being one piece. Still cool.

Jordan Sather, a prominent promoter of the QAnon conspiracy theory, suggested that Swift’s life had been orchestrated as part of a sinister plot to encourage her fans to vote.

There a few other people quoted in there but it’s all the same sinister plan they are proposing: The psyop is encouraging people to vote.

Republicans see large voter turnout as a bad thing because they are less popular than they want you to think they are. This is not new, it’s just a new target.

lemmydripzdotz123,

There are no eye holes in that mask. It is a blindfold. That is somehow more accurate.

lemmydripzdotz123,

Several bodily functions that involve expelling fluids feel good in moderation. Pooping, peeing, sneezing, even vomiting can be nice if it’s the kind that makes you feel so much better afterwards. Try doing any of those several times in a row or once for a very long time, though, and it overtaxes you body and starts to hurt. There was even a paper I read (and just went and found it again) that studied the time it takes for the pleasure to turn to displeasure through repetition or duration.

lemmydripzdotz123,

I mean, you can, though. Maybe you shouldn’t do it, but that’s only if the negative consequences outweigh the positive.

lemmydripzdotz123,

Let’s get to the root of it, though: The goals of the House GOP are not what you would consider to be good goals. Voting for impeachment makes perfect sense if the goal is to de-legitimize the Trump impeachments, make Biden look weak, and score points with a base who doesn’t care about facts so long as they own the libs. None of that aligns with governing or upholding their oath, but that’s not their goal.
