It's weird to me that Apple is sunsetting Macs made as recently as 2017. If you are buying a new Mac to stay on the latest and greatest software, please don't landfill your current Mac. Donate it to a FreeGeek or similar organization. An "unsupported Mac" can continue as a valued computer running Linux for many more years beyond "the sunset".

I do wonder if there’s any kind of testing happening for the Apple Music app. You don't need to be using it for very long until you come against a strange little issue and need to restart the app 🤨

@mariusor yeah I mean it is a complicated issue, like once you are sorta famous how much personal control of one's publicly shared words do you have the right to? I think most folks would agree politicians shouldn't have much of a say in how much their words get shared since they have a oversized position of power but the same could be argued for really any famous person

@mariusor probably the realization that everything we were saying privately was also being scooped up by the government so the only real difference is whether the person doing the scooping is being a jerk or a payed spy or a corporation

@cheeaun I think the time for me to move off of Apple's walled garden for good is near. I don't believe in buying new shit just to get software updates. The phone I am using still has plenty of power to do amazing things there is no reason the OS should kick me off after 6 years.

Been having a lot of issues with @elk recently (It's been my main way to interact with the fediverse for many months now) so I am trying @phanpy and am very impressed with how far its come since last time I tried it. Using the default Mastodon FE seems ridiculous to me after using Elk for months so its nice to see how far away we can get from that in these different clients. :fediverse:

@raucao @elk I love elk btw, not trying to persuade anyone against using it! Just that I want to try some other interfaces and see if they can stack up.

There is a recent issue with posts getting scrambled with other posts. And another issue that keeps popping up is if I scroll way down my home feed, click a post to read that thread and then click back it looses my place most of the time.

    I can't decide if I want to waste another a year 21$ on a domain name that I haven't really used for years
    I have https://utf.garden set up as my tumblr reblog alt that I have had since 2009, but I could just as easily set it up on a subdomain at https://utf.wake.st or something so what even is the point? I don't think I believe in the idea of domain name ownership anymore in the first place
