Ok, time to try this block of coconut oil and starch that the packaging dares call "vegan cheddar".

I'm not getting my hopes up, but I will try a thing once.

    Subtoot: I'll stop using X when Wayland actually works.

    (before replying, no there isn't a specific feature I'm missing. Every time I try to use it I go back for some annoying reason)

    loke,
    @loke@functional.cafe avatar

    @tfb i have no problem with X on my 4k monitor nor my high dpi laptop. I just adjust the font scale and everything jyst works.

    In fact I find the waylabd scaling to be quantitatively worse due, since it makes everything bigger and not in a nice way.

    loke,
    @loke@functional.cafe avatar

    @mc well I can't live without either of those. For example McCLIM only works on X.

    @vaartis right, which is why it would be neat if they brought in the retro stuff as well. The API is open as far as I know.

    Don't you just love it. Trying to look at the performance of the KAP interpreter.

    loke,
    @loke@functional.cafe avatar

    @snowyfox Correct. It's a combination of the depth of the code, as well as evaluations of lazy results. Both of these together makes the stack pretty deep.

    loke,
    @loke@functional.cafe avatar

    @snowyfox Well, I use it as a kind of a calculator all the time. It works very well for this. Things that people fire up python to do in 10 or more lines, is just a few characters in KAP. 🙂

    The Swedish word "gå" means "go", or "walk".

    You can also add prepositions to this word:

    "pågå" ("on go") - in progress. Compare to "ongoing".

    "ingå" ("in go") - to enter into an agreement

    "utgå" ("out go") - emanate

    "kringå" ("around go") - circumvent

    "övergå" ("over go") - transition

    "undergå" ("under go") - in the progress of a transition

    "vidgå" ("beside go") - avow

    "uppgå" ("up go") - amount

    "nedgå" ("down go") - decrease

    I'm still team "quote toots", but there are damn good reasons to make that an opt-in so users can decide whether or not they want to be "quote tooted", ideally also on a per-post basis.

    A deep dive on Andreessen Horowitz's latest "State of Crypto" report. In short: they want people to keep buying crypto, and are not above publishing blatant falsehoods to convince them to do so.

    The report itself is 60 pages long, so this is a long one.

    In blocking 's acquisition of , the UK has made history: they have stepped in to prevent a notorious, convicted monopolist from seizing control over a nascent, important market (cloud gaming), ignoring the transparent, self-serving lies Microsoft told about the merger:

    @pluralistic the funny thing is the gaming media has been all over this, arguing in favour of MS. This is the same gaming community who is all in on Discord and still mostly uses twitter. It's like they are seeking out the worst monopolists that abuse you as much as possible and then basically do their marketing for them. It's a weird community, I think.
