    Had a company meeting last week when a sizable number complained that someone had gotten some Taylor Swift in their NFL and how they would like her to stop.

    That ended when I (helpfully?) pointed out that Taylor doesn't control the cameras and perhaps their frustrations weren't with her.

    The subject mysteriously changed - immediately.

    I remember at the time going to a friend's house for one of the presidential debates. A number of us chuckled and laughed.

    The people in the room who didn't laugh? Anyone LGBT+ (a sizable portion of the group as we were in San Francisco).

    No mirth. I remember noting this.

    Of course, this was because they were much better observers of the political realities in the US then (and today).

    I've learned a lot since then.
