App idea: A todo app where you estimate your todos with story points and importance. The app learns how many points you can fit into a single day (maybe also checking how free your calendar is) and distributes your list over the coming days and weeks.

For my tenth day of I recommend the Australian series ‘Please Like Me’.

It’s about a twenty-something, who realizes he is gay after getting dumped by his girlfriend. His mom is suicidal and battles depression.

It’s a comedy series that is often extremely sad.

Something about it felt very relatable when I saw it a few years ago, and I still have to think about certain episodes to this day.

For my ninth day of I recommend my amigo Ángel’s app LetterMe. It just got approved by Apple a few minutes ago and is one of my new favorite apps in 2023.

He describes it like this:

LetterMe is a non-instant communication app that brings the experience of letter-sending to modern times 📫

Delivery time depends on the physical distance between sender and receiver, making each interaction special ❤️

The goal is to provide a slower communication channel where people can have more meaningful conversations without the need to reply instantly.

My first recommendation is @rizzi's RSS reader https://www.reederapp.com, which I am using for almost a decade now.

It's one of my favorite apps of all times. It has one of the prettiest app designs and smoothest animations. In addition to letting me read my subscribed RSS feeds offline, it lets me mark every website to read later, which also makes it available offline on all of my devices. At this point, I wouldn't want to live without it anymore.

Why an RSS reader?

I think it’s pretty crazy that it’s the default to share a photo with location data when using the iOS share sheet. Apple and other software companies could do a better job protecting users here. The only people I know that even think about this fact, are people who got burned by it.

I did a bit of research into this topic and was surprised to see that other popular tools in our community do not remove this data and make it extremely simple for everyone to get the precise location of a user.

You really have to think twice before uploading a photo of your cat or balcony.

I built an option to remove EXIF and location data right into for exactly this reason.

Our focus here is on making them accessible to our supporters, not making $, but we definitely want to break even and not lose money, so everything was done with limited quantities, and there’s a cost to ship.

iPad feature I'd love: deep sleep. I find whenever I go a few days or a week between using an iPad, it's often dead or almost dead. An auto-deep sleep mode after 24 hours of non-use would be awesome, even if it took 5 seconds or so to wake back up
