@Stoat I wouldn't think twice if it were purging bigotry from a party or getting rid of the corrupt. But getting rid of people who are questioning or standing up for your parties founding principles is always... ALWAYS... a seriously bad sign.

I recently ordered 2 tshirt dresses and they may be the only thing i wear from now on. They’re so comfy! Now if they had a pocket on ‘em they’d be a definite 🤪

@Stoat that’s why i like dresses and skirts. Long ones… get the waist right and you’re on. The tshirt dresses only needed me to get a size big enough for my shoulders n bust and i was sorted. That is the ideal for me!

@essjay @Stoat I got a BTec National Diploma in Performing Arts after being thoroughly depressed and over any notion that I might work in either Admin or Science (after stints at the DSS and a path lab). I was only seventeen when I started it, but I had been involved in theatre and music for 3 years and I was absolutely certain my life was not gonna be one where I worked behind a desk...

Now I'm disabled and I write, from behind a desk, so I guess the Btec was useless 😆

@Stoat @essjay I had lotsa fun with it. I learned a lot from some of the lecturers - not the acting ones who were more interested in weird light emitting from our bodies and how that would make us great actors than actually discussing techniques and "what to do with your hands". But the tech people were fab, very professional and highly skilled.

Demanding that all content from Threads be blocked by all instances for everyone (defederation) is Karenism.

Justifying it by claiming it's a threat to your culture ... well, I've heard that argument before.

@folkerschamel Yeah you can decide... You can decide to open a threads account and stop whining that your instance might have blocked them. No one will stop you from doing that and if you're so desperate to be involved then go for it. But you shouldn't put minorities in the firing line because you want to interact with someone that doesn't know what mastodon or fedi is. And YES people will be in the firing line. Maybe you don't know or understand the impact of the hate dolled out on FB etc.

@simon_brooke @RichardJMurphy Also maintaining the human rights of the LGBTQ+ community. He fully supports the tories on removing those rights and has given full support to right wing religious groups whose primary function is campaigning to remove them.
