Really interested in the new #Tuxedo #Sirius Gen-2 laptop with both #AMD cpu & gpu, cause i'm fed up with the still truly horrible power-management of #NVIDIA gpu's on #linux.
Anyone know of reviews of it, apart from the 1 by #thelinuxexperiment?

Also, the Gen-1 was only available for a few months, which seems weird? and the only difference looks the cpu, changed from Ryzen 7 7840HS to 8845HS, which doenst make much difference. Anyone know what happened there?

Good things sell out fast. Gen 2 brought it back in stock.

Wow!
Over 4% marketshare today is simply mindblowing. What would that be in terms of users? surely over a 100 milion.. maybe 200 milion ?? WTF can you believe these numbers??

throws me back to when i first got to using as a daily driver propper daily driver. Where after a brief wrestle with , I settled on 10.04 and many versions after that. Last few years being happy on with Plasma.

How far we have come, my fellow geeks!!

This is really cool: @fredldotme just landed an initial release for packages support in .
I know that not everyone in Linux was happy about Snapcraft appearing (no need to rehash that one 😏 )

But now I'm very much looking forward to kicking the tires on that one. This could bring Ubuntu Touch devices to another level. Very excited!

So there is something really wrong with on desktop
after applying latest updates, all games will will crash on startup. Both native and

Seeing this on 2 different systems (1 AMD and 1 Nvidia)
seems unaffected though.

Anyone else with this?

plasma 6.5

@williamconna Right, i did realize that 😄! But still. Even though i've got all my games synced to steam cloud, that will mean deleting all my steam data and a lot of configs. Am a bit hesitant to do that just yet

@matv1 can also rename that folder, to test, instead of deleting it

Building a phone OS takes thousands of pieces needing to fit together. One of those is handling cell-broadcast, where a celltower can push a message to all phones within range.

Ubuntu Touch has its cell-stack based on Ofono. CB was already built into Ofono but there was still quite some work to enable it in the OS.
Next week, the UT devs are hoping to pick up the german national warning test-message for the first time, adding yet another piece of the puzzle!

Think that having only 2 phone OS options is a very unhealthy situation?
Ever thought of switching to an open OS, getting away from data guzzling Google/Apple, now's a perfect time to try out Ubuntu Touch.

Running on top of the fully maintained UbuntuOS, Lomiri UI activily being improved all the time.
Today's devel-branch update from @fredldotme boosting app-startup time significantly.

The Pixel3a is one of the best supported phones atm. Get it second hand and try it!

@Hawkmoon @fredldotme
Ubuntu touch does not rely on android. It has its own cellular implementation (called Ofono).
But getting your carrier connection is almost always automatic. You wont have problems. And if it doesnt work right away, you can also manualy set your carrier config.
Only caveat is that Ubuntu Touch does not support VoLTE yet. So if your carrier happens to do VoLTE only, you are out of luck. If you are in europe, you should be fine. In the US or elsewhere, you need to check
