As someone who has 4 kids, I find myself calling folks turds a lot more both in person & online than actually cursing. Even around fellow grown-ups.

I mean adults.

    So, today's theme is . The idea, from what I'm seeing, is a song / tune that had a huge impact or really stuck with you when you first heard it.

    The first song that I think of for this category is 's "Ddu-DDu-Du." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHNzOHi8sJs

    This was one of the first songs that really stuck with me & got me interested in hearing more. I don't know what it was about it, but it hit me. Before that, honestly, never really listened to any.

    Hearing that song on was...a musical awakening for me. It started me on the path of actually venturing out and discovering music that I liked, not merely what my parents listened to.

    Also, TMBG are awesome.

    So, I missed it - but on marked a full year since I made my first account, @mdmrn. I subsequently moved from Dot Social to the Urusai Instance in November of last year and have been here since.

    When I first got here, I figured this would just be a place I'd be when I wasn't on . I was very, very active on Twitter with over 3,000 followers. With the Musk purchase on the horizon, I wanted a place to fall back to in case things got bad.

    They did.

    Over most of last year, I was less and less active on Twitter until I just stopped.

    After I stopped, I put up a post directing people to find me elsewhere. Some did, some did not.

    I got here a little after my friend @gnitro who had already started to settle into the before me. After arriving, I met folks like @cliffwade @Mrfunkedude who helped with such a welcoming environment here on .

    Over time, I met some admins of great Instances like @neatchee @britt @jcrabapple @chikorita157 who introduced me to more cool content.

    And after that I learned more about Fediverse integration and made a account that I use on the regular @mdmrn.

    All in all, it was a necessary move. While I miss some of the folks back on Twitter, I'm glad to be here. It's been a much better social media experience for me.

    Thanks for having me Fedi, you're not getting rid of me anytime soon!

    @Mrfunkedude @gnitro @cliffwade @neatchee @britt @jcrabapple @chikorita157 I hope so too. Mastodon is not a Twitter replacement as even I viewed it when I first got here. It's a different social media experience and, frankly, it's been better for me overall.

    No algorithm? No problem!

    @sariash Very cool! I was tooting right away in April, but still SUPER active on Twitter at the time. That slowed down. A lot.

    But, it's been great meeting cool folks, like you, here on Mastodon!

    WE ARE MOVING!!! Finally!!!

    We were approved for a place yesterday and will make our way to our new home in Alberta in June!

    Super excited to be close to family again and in a larger city. Sad to say goodbye to the beautiful west coast, though… our home for nearly a decade.

    I cannot wait - a fresh start is desperately needed.

    Tried something a little different for the photo shoot on Harv's Island. Decided for a retro feel.

    Like some of my other recent rooms, I designed the scene small. This scene is just Muffy and Raymond sitting in front of an old TV watching their stories.

    It turned out cute and Raymond in his little suit just fits for the old fashioned scene I'm setting up.

    Have ideas for ACNH scenes? Let me know. Love trying to make new ones.

    @CrossingAlison Well, not exactly. Since I have HHP and the DIY for the interior walls, I use them on Harv's Island to make the room smaller. It's been a fun little challenge for myself to work in a smaller space.
