I've watched a number of videos about digital marketing now, and I think I've come to the conclusion that it's in the opposite of my sweet spot. It's not very hard to do, but it's somewhat tedious and repetitive. You're creating funnels and the goal is always a conversion. You put out bait and you reel people in. You fine tune ad campaigns based on metrics. It's automated manipulation.

@thor Marketing originally is only about sales enablement or education.

A lot of digital marketing is just sales.

Most people don't think about brand awareness properly. Or retaining current customers. Just want more and more leads.

"Oh yeah," you think. Obvious scam, right?

The caller says "I'll send you an in-app notification to prove I'm calling from your bank."

Your phone buzzes. You tap the notification This is what you see.

Still think it is a scam?

@Edent The notification would freak me the living fuck out I'd hang up, immediately transfer everything in that account to one of my other accounts and then ask the bank questions later.

That's provided I actually answered my phone in the first place.

It's just that no amount of new or 'innovative' features a platform crams up its ass is going to do that for you. It's still a lot of work.

The best thing a site like LinkedIn offers is a comprehensive address book for current and potential business contacts.
