@csilverman I hate these so so much, and they're often even more confusing switched between an OS light/dark mode.

Apple has a similar issues with the Show/Hide in their apple tv OS. Do they mean that when the button says SHOW that it is actively showing, or does it mean that I need to click the button to show it? Ugh.

I hadn't seen our resident otters in a while, which was giving me a sad. Today, while doing dishes, I looked up and saw two adults and three wee pups!

Apparently Emmett found a missus and started a family! We have an old cattle pond at the north corner of our property and that bank has been Emmett's preferred potty area... as you can see by this picture, he's passing that tradition on to his family :D Potato quality pic through dirty window, but glad I managed to grab the camera in time!

An adult otter in tall grasses rushes back into the pond, just out of frame to the left. It is being followed by its three young pups.

Fantasy for ages now. As with so many smaller publishers of spec fic/sci fi magazines, times are tough and made tougher by the recent Amazon changes.

In the Ozarks for the eclipse. Met this friendo at the campground yesterday! It had a nest right over a campsite around the bend from us. It had brought a snake-snack for its bebeh birbs! Couldn’t get focus on the nest without encroaching on someone’s campsite, but this one did not mind striking a pose.

    Our orange 1st Aid bag is huge, BUT I so prefer it to our more compact ones, because it gives me the ability to clearly label everything.

    🧠s are TERRIBLE at decision making (& finding things) in high stress situations. Constant training on where things are can overcome this, BUT unless you're an EMT that's not gonna happen. So, Find ways to compensate.

    @masukomi my recommendation for folx to add to their home medic bags: sharpies and a couple gallon and quart ziptop bags. The bags are useful for everything from transporting a severed part to just containing something soiled if you don’t have a biohazard bag onhand.

    @cobalt I get that, but some things that may put this in perspective:

    • some towns or orgs will reimburse uber for certain job seekers.

    • the bus stop closest to home / next job may not be safe, bus route may take hours vs minutes by uber.

    • may not have access to a kitchen at home, may never have had the opportunity to learn, may live in a food desert w/o access to fresh food.

    Bottom line though: while many causes/reasons, it’s never our business to point out to them (not that you are!)
