Working on a session proposal for a conference, and they have #Taiwan, #HongKong and, most surprisingly, #Tibet listed as "countries" for registration.
@ncoca Have been wondering about that, too. Anything seems possible right now 🤔 That the BJP won't have one by themselves is already bad enough from their perspective.
I guess the #Philippines has the same clueless leftists as #India, who think everything is a US-led conspiracy, and believe #Russia is the same entity as the #SovietUnion, not a fascist dictatorship supporting far-right movements around the world.
When someone told me that they thought this would be the last vigil, I was skeptical. Turns out, they were right. And I haven't been back to #HK, one of my favorite cities in the world, since.
The overwhelming attention that the #Trump case has gotten in #Japan media (and probably most #Asia media) compared to the #Taiwan protests is a bit ridiculous.
The latter, IMO, is far more important the the region.
I feel like one of the only Americans who was paying more attention to the trial of the #HongKong pro-democracy activist trial than the one happening in #NYC.
And because of how I check things and the filters on feed here, didn't hear news about that for quite a while after I woke up today.
Any decent, mobile web based #transit planner for #NYC or #DC? Don't want to download an app. The one I was using, years ago, #Citymapper, seems to have gone to shit.
#AmericanAirlines#twitter support (which is fantastic) is literally the only reason I am still on the #birdsite. I haven't posted in over a year, never check it, but have DMed AA regularly.
Their app, chat, phone, website, all shit. Couldn't even order a veg meal, but Twitter support fixed it in minutes.
@ncoca Yeah, with many email providers, you can append "+whatever" to your username and filter on that. I have done so in a number of places, but when a legitimate business starts spamming me, I will push back. The burden should be on the businesses to maintain their systems properly (and US law more or less says the same), not on people to be tech-savvy.
It's also astonsihing to me that companies think that sending out several emails a week about their BIG SALE is a good idea.
