I de-activated my Twitter account today. I had decided to keep it without posting a while back, just in case anyone would try to use my handle to write weird stuff and impersonate me, but I realized there’s no way I’m ever going back to Twitter and posting anything there.
If someone impersonates me, well, since Twitter has become so ridiculous and toxic, I’m sure people will accept that it’s not me talking.
I wasn’t using this account, and hadn’t for something like a year, so, bye « X »!
@thelinuxEXP I'm exclusively using #mastodon myself, but I'm still torn about closing my #twitter account. I still have contacts there that are not on mastodon yet, and I still hope Musk is going to give up on "X" sooner or later, so I'm leaving my account "parked" for the moment. For advertisement they are counting Daily and monthly Active users anyway, so I'm pretty sure my user doesn't count that much to beautify X performances for advertisers.
@freemo great! I wonder how it compares with #Waterfox which I'm using in conjunction with #Mate and #Plasma under #Linux (because it actually supports Global Menus, unlike firefox and other derivatives). It also has better privacy presets than #firefox proper.

@debugpoint oh I just heard today in a @thelinuxEXP podcast that #Plasma is still kinda buggy on wayland and #NVIDIA. Is there any reason for this decision?

Every time I mentioned a Fairphone in a Friday Checkout we got great views. Clearly there is a lot of interest, so I got a review unit. What would you like to know about either the phone or the company behind it?
@Techaltar oh, there are multiple questions: how's the camera and the camera software in general. Is the new processor good enough to last for 8 years? How's battery life? Can you install other os' in it? How do they perform?

@Techaltar the price of the average new car is frankly too high (even in Europe) and the burden of car loans on family budgets is increasingly becoming hard to sustain.
