I just found out indoor skydiving is a thing and exists and I am physically able to participate if I enter the building.

Y'all want to hear a fact that really changed the way I thought about homelessness?

Half of all homeless people were in the foster system at some point. Social Workers often call the foster system The Highway to Homelessness. If you ever had a point in your life where you had to live with friends or family to for a short time to get back on your feet, remember that is a privilege that not everyone had.

And I guess maybe 40% of homeless were children of alcoholics/addicts/dysfunctional families.

And maybe 10% developed a mental illness in adulthood.

Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families & AA & similar groups catch some folks before they end up on the street.

the only solid things about airbnb that i can determine is it's easy to get food delivered, and they have great and secure wifi i trust usually, and it's all paid in advance and once you click click click on the websites you never have to pull out your card again - otherwise i am all about hotels and no binders of rules and bullshit

I did two AirBnB's with my ex.
Both in one summer.
The first one was fine til we got back from dinner, at that point the AC had been off for a while and it was uncomfortably warm.Hosts obvs gone to bed, and didn't pester them, in retrospect we should have.

Second time, we asked specifically about air conditioning first, and the host confirmed that there was, with no reservation. Upon our return from a nice concert, it was fukin hot in the room. Protested to the hosts, they said the AC was on, but it was totally ineffective. Opened the windows to try to make it bearable, and it was almost OK, then a skunk went off. Closed the windows and suffered.

Third time was just me.
Quality was WAY oversold, promised coffemaker and key were never provided, back yard was very much not as described, totally unusable.

I'll not do one again unless I get a stellar personal reference on one that that person has stayed at.

AI wouldn't have the answers I'm looking for.

I'm confident idle chitchat with an AI version of a passed loved one wouldn't comfort me.

If I were confident of the security, I could see myself supplying my own thoughts and feelings to an AI bot prior to my demise, for a loved one to have if they so desired.

If it helped a loved one to do as you've described after I was gone, I'd not mind.
