NWS now predicting my part of MA will get somewhere between 2-6" of snow on Tuesday, and I am crossing everything that it can all get cleared away by evening so roads are clear for a cab to take me to the airport on Wednesday, and more critically, that my flight to isn't delayed that morning, or worse, cancelled.

(It probably won't be. But you never know.)

@timelordiroh Thanks! I'm now in the 8-12" range 😬 but the storm ends tomorrow around 5-6pm and my flight is Wednesday around 10. So if I can get to the airport, I will probably have a plane to Gally.

Reminder that companies are incapable of love and will never love you back.

One of the people in my department who truly did a huge amount of work and was always positive and energetic just got canned for the stupidest possible reason. What did all their grinding optimism and overtime hours get them? Nothing!!!!
Do your job, do it well, but do not put anything into it you can’t take with you.

Mine is that dashboards in analytics are basically useless about seventy percent of the time in reality & that other thirty percent of the time they’re only functional because people are constantly behind the scenes tinkering with them like stokers in an old time steamship.

Bluntly, the Fediverse requires too much work on the user's part to understand before they can even make the leap to using it, and too much work for discoverability after that. I say this as someone who's been using Mastodon pretty much daily for months now and plan to continue doing so. There's some great food for thought in Erin Kissane's piece, and thankfully, people are already working on some of the issues.
