Slight let up in the rain today - or so I thought - meant a walk for this pair. They’ve been trapped inside for 24 hours.

Stella didn’t mind the rain at all, and got home soaked to the skin. Eloise, on the other hand, wanted carrying after three houses and a single tinkle.

Eloise has a VERY defined ritual, including:

  • Drumming on the back of the couch
  • Running and leaping between couches
  • Sitting and waiting - but please don’t crowd

She also has a peculiar ritual when getting her treat …

A small white terrier places the back of a blue couch. As the camera moves left, she runs along the couch, then jumps down to the arm, leaps the gap to the next couch, then up onto its back and towards the door. When the camera stops, she sits briefly, then retraces her steps in reverse to not be so close to me. When I move a little further toward the door, she comes back and sits, waiting. As the camera pans around, a second brown terrier is on the floor, licking her lips in anticipation. Boomer, a Great Dane/Mastiff, also waits impatiently.

Returning from the garage, the other two dogs get their treats first. She won’t take hers first if it’s offered.

When it is offered, she will hesitantly reach for it, then stop. Then reach for it, then stop. Some days she needs a little scritch on the head to get her to take it. Today was not that day.

Then, unlike the other chow hounds, she is off to find a suitable private place to eat.

I’ve recently been enjoying Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Acapulco.

Anyone have some good recommendations for me? Doesn’t matter what streaming service it’s on.
