PBS landed 11 nominations, by far the most of any outlet, as Peabody Awards Board of Jurors announced this year’s 41 nominees across its documentary, news, public service and radio/podcast categories. The pubcaster’s Peabody noms include FRONTLINE “20 Days in Mariupol,” which recently won the Oscar for best documentary feature film.

Musk to Advertisers Who Left X: “Go F*** Yourself”
“What this advertising boycott is going to do is, it is going to kill the company,” Musk said. “The whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company.”

Today there are far more centimillionaires and billionaires than there were in the gilded age, and they have collectively accumulated a much larger proportion of the world’s wealth.

35 years ago today, my sister & I were waiting out a rain delay at Riverfront Stadium before the Reds played the Dodgers. My sister had to work, so we left. The Reds starting pitcher that night? Tom Browning. I have a ticket stub to a Perfect Game, but never saw a pitch.

I was there. It was like a 2-and-a-half-hour delay. I was 17 and it was the first time I drove to downtown Cincinnati from Loveland/Maineville area.

@paul

Announced attendance was 16,591, but there likely weren't half that many people there after the game was delayed 2 hours and 27 minutes.

Over the past few decades, more than 2,000 newspapers across the country have closed, leaving many communities without a reliable source of local information. Researchers say this crisis in journalism, driven by changes in technology, is fueling the country's political divisions. Judy Woodruff visited a Texas community that recently lost its newspaper for her series, America at a Crossroads.
