For those wondering when the ‘What's New In #Android#Accessibility’ session is from #GoogleIO, it’s right after the dev keynote!
(As of this writing, dev keynote already in progress)
How ya gonna expect most blind people to jump over to a different platform (with the exception to a #HomeTown instance), if all the work is being specifically put into Mastodon?
@queenslight There are no mainstream apps t'hat are really accessible. Mastodon, but it doesn't work with all. Toot tusky and other apps that don't have pc counterparts, though toot is planning on a mac app.
@queenslight Meh, I've almost given up on Emacs and Emacspeak. VS Code just works. Not with Org-mode so well. No the extension isn't all that great. But for Markdown which everyone else uses, it's fine.
@queenslight I agree re: espeak's speed and responsiveness. I use the Max voice on my pcs. Now using Eloquence on this iPhone. Had been using a male Siri voice until the upgrade to 16.4.1. Is there an Espeak for IOS? If not, maybe it's an issue of licensing?
I would like to sincerely thank @genewitch , for opening up a ticket for making the #Misskey web interface more accessible to all #Blind & #VisuallyImpaird users.
Comment among the #GitHub thread if anyone has ideas/thoughts, and spread the word!
@queenslight I kind of want to do something similar to what Clipper did with the Free Hugs , but that will need to wait for after Marefair, there is only so mamy projects that I can start and abandon before burning out.
(which shockingly works very well on #android devices), also am very proud to have tested it's interface for accessibility issues. Honestly it turned out well in the end.
Greetings to all new and returning followers here among #Mastodon & #equestria !
Yes, I have been over on #FireFish these days (see profile for link if ya wish to follow me there), but life's been okay I guess.
Nothing too exciting honestly to share (not even in 500 characters), but hopefully more as the fall progresses.
The only thing exciting right now (as of this post), is me going to Starbucks at around lunchtime to get their last 'buy one get one' deal on their Fall pumpkin drinks.
