Spent some time changing a #GodotEngine#GDScript to a #csharp class. They look identical, but it seems the same hardcoded values work differently in GDScript vs. C#.
Does anyone want to have a look? I can't see what I did differently.
@khalidabuhakmeh your job seams like a dream job to me. Looking into new tech every day, experimenting with it, and writing blog posts about it. What does one have to do to get a job like that? 😀 I don´t even know what job title I´d have to search for. 😂 Professional Cool Tech Researcher?
If we can trust the demos of #dotnetconf#blazor seems ready to be used in production now 😀
dotnet is late to the party for static server-side rendering, but let's if they can make up for that with quality
Btw, if you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I could build an IDE”, just look at the amount of work that goes into a JetBrains IDE’s ecosystem in just icons. It’s an enormous amount of work.
Had to fire up my Windows workstation for the first time in a few months - I've been all in on Mac lately.
Current client is 'Windows heavy' and their projects setup process is written accordingly.
Numerous powershell scripts, Azure CLI & Core Tools as well as VS2022 specific configurations.
I have to say ..... it's been painful going back to Windows and I will be returning to the Mac once I have this all set up and running over here on the Dark Side (never thought I'd be saything that)
@onthefencedev then good luck with the windows machine. I actually like windows 11, because it brought in some more features from Linux. Also you might want to check out windows power toys as they bring in some very convenient features especially if you want to get started quick https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/
@rm4@Goldfish the repository looks abandoned. Last commit was 2 months ago. Also the vidzy project mentioned there does not seam to be productive yet :thonking: But that's for the info anyway 🙂
Thunderbird 115 "Supernova" launches on Monday, July 10th! It's our first step towards a more modern, more beautiful, and more customizable Thunderbird experience.
We think you're going to love it, and we are endlessly grateful for all of your support throughout the years 💙
A quick two penneth (putting the privacy elephant in the room aside for a moment):
Bluesky: first experience - empty. Void. Hard to find people I want to follow.
Threads: very quick easy setup process if you’re on insta (which will be key for most people), but once in it’s chaos and anxiety inducing. Can’t turn off suggested posts, doesn’t remember where you were (and it’s an algorithmic timeline anyway).
It’s interesting to dip into others, but it just solidifies why I’m on Mastodon.
@jonhicks good thing I cannot check it out anyway in europe, because it doesn't comply with GDPR. So I don't even feel the slightest urge to look into it. 😄
@khalidabuhakmeh "We also plan to support local and on-premises models. For local models, the supported feature set will most likely be limited."
This will be very interesting for my employer 🤩
I’m really liking the work the #JetBrains design team is doing to update the icons in #JetBrainsRider. These are small quality-of-life improvements that take the experience to the next level. #dotnet#design
Getting more and more irritated by service sign-up pages that don't recognise an email address with a TLD longer than 3 characters, e.g. .email (ironically).
It's just lazy validation and they need to wake up and realise that not everyone has a .com email address!
https://twit.social/@a@onthefencedev why even bother putting so much effort into validation, when you need to verify it by actually sending an email to the address anyway?
The only validation you need is:
Contains @
Has some characters before the @
Has some characters . some more characters after the @
@shanselman your eyes were sparkling like the eyes of a child looking at a world full of opportunities and I really love that. Developers have to keep their curiosity!
Did you know you can tell #ReSharper to not trigger the “local variable is never used” warning in your #csharp projects just my renaming the variable to “unused”, “dummy”, or “_”.
@onthefencedev just stumbled across this post. Why were you not a fan of ReSharper, if I may ask? If it's performance you are concerned, I can tell you Rider is way faster than VS + ReSharper.
