I did it 🥳🎉!

First 10k and my PB so far. My net time was 01:02:12, i.e. a pace of 6'13"/km
My best training time so far has been 6'25"/km in 9 km, so I'm satisfied with my performance!

People cheering while passing by is a great motivational boost.

folks: how did you find the right shoes for your feet? Did it truly change the way you run?

I'm starting to think my calf problems are related to my shoes. I know that there are shops providing a sort of foot analysis, but I am not confident enough to go there.

Warm-up: 1 km walk
Intervals 4:1 ➡️ 4' slow pace + 1' fast pace (x6)
Cool-down: 2 km walk

Following suggestions I received on IG, I've decided to do instead of fartleks on my short runs.
It's a bit difficult for me to regulate the fast pace, but I guess I will improve with practice.

I'm getting faster but I have to weigh this with a grain of salt because yesterday I took an unplanned rest day. Rest days considerably and positively affect my performance.

Mmmh, now wondering if I should take 2 consecutive rest days before my 10k race on March 17th.

My didn't go as planned today. Temperature was -5°C and my old phone suddenly drained its battery at km 4. I really need a new one 😭!
So I went back, but with no music to keep me focused I stopped after 2ish km.
I must have run for about 6 km only.

Not my fastest 10k but I had fun. Like a crazy lady I sang for 8 km 😂, then I decided to pick up the pace a bit for the last 2 km.
It was raining, windy and most alleys in the park were blocked due to a triathlon competition.
So no star shape either today 😞.
Nevertheless the good thing with bad weather is less groups of people going for a walk and taking up the whole alley width.

Sensational messages promoting apps are getting on my nerves

All of these are only likely if you're in your 20s, a normal weight range and you've exercised your whole life.

It's been 2½ years since I first starting to work on . I've been on and off but consistent training periods have been of 3+ months.
The foundation required for those skills is advanced level.

Performance-wise I felt tired. I usually increase my speed the last km but today I couldn't even do that.

Last week it was intermittent headaches and a sore throat, this week it's a runny nose, a sore throat and, as I unfortunately found out during my session, diarrhea.
No, I didn't 💩 in my pants!
Since I've started taking its effects have been gut regulation and sphincter strengthening. I can now hold it in even in such extreme conditions (if I walk instead of running)! 😂

With great effort I've successfully been avoiding so far, but this hard exploit has sadly come to an end and I must install it for a circuit training group I'm part of.

I've experienced the same delusion when I had to switch back to from because of apps available only there. Or when I had to create temporary accounts to join certain communities.

So annoyed by coercion exerted by society when it comes to products, sgrunt!

I'm thinking about quitting . It's a free class and this is my third year. Every year the instructor changes because the local public administration only hires through 1-year contracts (interesting how only the public sector is allowed to do that repeatedly 😤!). Anyway this year they hired a young man who's always on sick leave or refuses to do the class. His colleague who usually trains children in schools ensures the class in those cases.

I can't believe this is a beginner workout! I am indeed out of shape but still. How can anyone possibly do 7 min of crunches, bicycle crunches & planks with only 10s breaks between exercises lasting 1min each? 😵

I went this morning but I didn't feel good. Back home from our Danish vacation I feel very tired. We walked a lot and I drove for 2900 km because husband doesn't drive at all.

So I had to stop at 4 km because I lacked the mental strength to continue. I will have to approach my sessions gradually from now on, alternating running and walking to build back the endurance I lost.
