I went today after an 11 day break. Knees were more or less ok. I applied a heating patch which gave me a burning sensation halfway through the run until the end.
The weather was hot, sunny and 22°C. An abrupt change of 15°C in just a couple of days.

I gave up after 8,3 km, as the sun and the burning knees won over my resolution. I walked for 10 min and then I ran again for another 1,8 km.

@ubo I did give up. I stopped and walked. I didn't know I would resume running after 1 km.

Anyway I'll do better next time. The plan for the month of May is 12 km on my long runs and I still think I can get back on track.

Friday:
102 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
30 minutes of HIIT
20 minutes of strength training
25 KM of #cycling (8°C).

The HIIT workout really was tough today; a bit too fast for me, but I managed.

The ride was nice enough. Did have a pickup truck parked in the cycle track on Laurier though. Don't think they too much of me dinging at them.

Avoiding high impact exercises at the moment because of knee pain. I hope I can go back to normal within a few days, otherwise I'm stuck with mountain climbers as high intensity exercise with no jumping 😭.

I'm a slow runner and I don't care.

My priorities are:
1️⃣ Slowly increasing the distance
2️⃣ Maintaining a good form that allows me to keep doing it consistently "for as long as I breath" (quote from the awesome"Dune - Part 2" movie 😉).

My aim in is functional. I want to be able to do things no matter how long it takes me. And what I can't afford at all is injury.

Also they finally opened the river path in the other direction 🎉. I saw a 🐎 too!

Friday: 121 seconds of plank, 11 minutes of yoga for runners, 31 minutes of Strength training, followed by 6.6 km of (0°C), picked up groceries, and walked home.

I tried dialingmy running back this week, and I think I have to try and take next week off completely and possibly book an appointment with my doctor to see what she thinks is going on.

That's still the most common usage in Italy and France.
In Italy another way is to touch iron or more generally metal. This comes from the expression "an iron health", i.e. someone who never gets sick.

We make fun of US citizens who lack geographic knowledge and yet many people from different European countries now believe that the UK has left Europe.

Let's make this clear: Europe is a continent and the UK remains in Europe. Even part of Turkey is in Europe.

The British did instead leave the European Union, which is a group of member States agreeing to a common legislation and free movement of people and merchandise (no tax, no visas).

@denspier absolutely not. There are many agreements already in place between the UK and France, Ireland, etc.
They didn't cut all ties. It's impossible to do so given that the UK relies on imports more than exports for many categories of products.
Also Europe includes countries that are not in the EU like Switzerland, Ukraine, etc.

@denspier some people don't believe in evolution either, but that doesn't make their beliefs correct 😂
I understand that you approach the issue from a political POV, but imho science and even taxonomy is more important here. UK is still in the European continent. Its land didn't magically detach. Moreover it still has to solve immigration issues by dealing with France, which is part of the EU and reflects its policies. So the British are very much European even if they don't feel it!

@denspier then let me ask you. Is Poland Central Europe or Eastern Europe?
From a Russian standpoint it's Eastern Europe and it isn't entirely incorrect to think so for historical reasons.
From the Polish and the EU perspectives it's Central Europe.
Understand that I'm being provocative to mark my point.
We choose to side with geography and cultural affinity in that case.
Why is it different for the UK? No one dares to think Iceland isn't in Europe and there would be enough reasons to do so.

I was afraid because yesterday my knees hurt during circuit training. I don't know why and it never happened before. We trained outside and there was a chilly wind, so maybe that's a possible cause.

Anyway I could run pain free today, so nothing to worry about 😅
