I also made this dress I never wore into a skirt I might sometimes wear. And from a loosely fitting skirt to a snugly fitting wrap skirt, too!
The hem is asymmetrical, voluminous and has square handkerchief edges and weird bits that give it lots of movement.
Here, a clip it's too dark to see much of!

A short clip of Sini doing a spin while wearing a black and white loose sleeveless blouse and an absurdly wide hemmed and voluminous black skirt. During the spin it flares out enough to touch the furniture of the room she's in, and after the spin she lifts the hem up and wraps it around herself like a shawl, revealing a brown skirt beneath. It has roughly the volume of a full circle skirt and then some. She does a series of little hops, going on another revolution, giving a fey little smile.

Oh! Just remembered the dream I had.

Great strides had been made in perfecting plastic, oil and toxic waste recycling. A machine had been created! All you had to do was input whatever into a large hopper, no sorting required. Solids, liquids. The end product out the other end was stable carbon, water and trace amounts of minerals. That is to say: Turtles. Just hordes and hordes of turtles, alive and well, in every species, hurtling out of a hopper! 🐢

I have, as on many mornings, woken up first to a number of cat crimes. Somebody trying to get a crisp packet out of the trash. Experimentally nibbling a light switch. Trying to drop my glasses to the floor.
And then, once they figure out I'm half awake, two or more of the boys come to wake me up being so incredibly sweet. Gently licking my head, giving each other headbutt hugs while lounging on me, just generally being very cute.
I think the bastards know I'll forgive almost anything they do 😶

Reminded of this feature of Roman architecture, and 1700s European milk parlour or cheese house architecture that I vaguely recall and am too tired to currently re-look into: The Roman villas would have an open air room inside the walls of the house, shaded by overhanging roofs, and there would also be pools of water. The combination of circulation, shade and water evaporation would keep it one of the coolest rooms in the building.

I don't want to brag too much, just to show how nice it is when there's a lot of trees... But yeah, look at how fucking nice it is when your most city centre is just absolutely covered in trees instead of parking lots and suburbs!

These are all from within a 2km radius of the absolute midpoint of the city, an old but moderately large one in the Nordics.

Another calm and lovely photo. A pedestrian and bike path travelling through a copse of trees, more resembling a forest than anything. There is a mix of conifers and leafy trees, the sunlight once again beautifully sifted by all kinds of natural life. A scattering of pine needles and leaves have accrued along the sides of the asphalt path or street: It is wide enough to accommodate one and a half cars, or maybe four cyclists side by side. It looks to be early autumn.
A landscape photo shot from a high rise, overlooking an area of urban habitation. There are dozens of squat and somewhat cosy looking high rises with square windows and little balconies, each of the scale of maybe 70 apartments per building, so not immense but not tiny. Some 30 to 40% of the land area of the photo is taken up by rich green tree tops. Just nothing but trees visually, though they do hide smaller buildings! There is a lone water tower in the distance and the sky is overtaken by a summer storm rolling in, one side of the sky sunny and dappled with fluffy clouds, a bank of ocean blue overtaking the rest.

Watching the end credits of an episode of Candela Obscura (chapter three, episode one) and the captions were excellent, as always. I can hear but they help me spot things I might miss, and to concentrate, but I also just appreciate them as an art form. But. Guess how many closed captions editors Critical Role hired for this?

I've been slowly working on the cat quilt. Top-stitching one little bit or two, pulling the threads to the reverse and finishing them. Put on the binding but didn't take the basting threads off yet. This variegated thread I had perfectly matches! Mom has seen it and likes how it looks and it looks less trash to me, so that's good. Still very hard to get decent photos of.

A photo centred on one of the large cat prints. It is a kitten done in a sort of stylised grid of triangles, with a black tail and white chest. The large block has been top stitched with similar random triangles made by crossing the entire block, hitting an edge, and turning at an angle. This, also, takes roughly about forever. Looks pretty nice though, even unironed.
Close-up of the binding and border going between the block groups. It is blue, with top stitching done in a blue thread that travels between teal, dark blue, gray blue and electric blue. There is both straight stitch and zigzag. It looks pretty nice, but is also covered in errant cat hairs. There is a hand sewn line of tacking thread along it.

A few years back I did pet portraits for my followers in the other place, both for some change because I was broke and for free when I felt like drawing something cute but had no ideas and liked to make people happy. Some of them turned out quite nice!

Pastels in hue, the cat has deep green eyes. A very pretty cat, also dated July on 2020.
An ink painting with some gouache details, of two napping cat with their heads together. They look like siblings, with white bellies and faces and black or grey backs, noses and ears. It's quite cute. Dated later in July of 2020.

I cannot emphasise enough how nice it is to just shave all your hair off. With a hair trimmer sans a guard you don't even have to see what you're doing and it takes maybe less than 10 minutes to shave it all off. And then you don't have to worry about hair for a month! It's just not among the things you have to deal with!

Someone wanted to hear about Musti, and he is indeed, still a cat. He's been enjoying the kitten kibble I've been giving Pörri, perhaps too much. Already a large boy, he is now also quite round!
The entire time I was trying to take just this one photo, Karvinen was licking my forearm and making all the other photos turn out blurry.

A more posed but nonetheless lovely photo, wherein she is now wearing a black corset also. It has wheat brown embroidered flossing at the front, is a snug shape reaching up to her mid bust, and flares out significantly at the hip. The shape is quite distinct for late Victorian or early Edwardian corsets. She is also wearing a pair of black shoes that make her calves look absolutely fantastic, shapely, muscled and slender. She is looking off to the right, in profile. There is a large pink ribbon in her wig, and she looks rather lively despite being far more bony than the Edwardian era would have found best.
A back view, mid step and turn. Here you can see what the Edwardian silhouette is really about: Hip padding! There is an adorable little ivory pillow contraption with small yellow flowers and a cute ruffle on the edges of it. It is tied about the waist and under the corset, further emphasising what could at a glance be determined to be rather wide hips. Truly the waist to hip ratio is quite significant with the padding added! It all looks reasonably in proportion because fashion is weird. There is more embroidery at the back of the corset, showing hints of the mysterious placing of boning to make the back and bust take the jutted out shape familiar from more dressed up Edwardian vintage photographs.

Idly thinking about keffiyeh and where people are buying them from. While it's been part of resistance fashion here since the 1970s and people have thus owned them, surely there must have been a massive spike recently with everybody protesting. I got mine from the thrift shop over 10 years ago (I have so many scarves, it's an entire hoard) but I kinda doubt they're just on sale in "normal" fast fashion chain stores. How do you clothe all of Malmö showing up to protest in a sea of keffiyeh?

All the lovingly and painstakingly crafted cabbages. The lovely bosom-forward lass holding that pumpkin? All the erect carrots? The shape of the wreath? So subtle! Incredible. 😆

A black tuxedo cat sitting in the lowest compartment. He is of sufficient robustness and height that he looks like he barely fits between the support structures, hunched down and looking left. It looks fairly silly. He is not a small cat and the cat tree looks like it's made for cats half his size!

Today I awoke to three cats on me.
That's quite a lot of cat, you may think, and you would be correct, it is quite a lot of cat. Especially if the deranged orange one won't stop trying to lick your neck and face and you have to try to dislodge him without disturbing the cat on your chest, while the third one that was on your legs makes his approach to crawl onto your chest also, and they might start a fight right there if the orange cat dislodging process annoys the both of them

Sometimes Kerv will be having a deep sleep and start having a very vivid dream, often yowling in anger and fear, kicking wildly. Then when I gently wake him up, he'll crowd into my neck or arms and attempt to give me the bathing of a lifetime.

I often do wonder, what do cats have nightmares about?
