@gabz It's never too late. It's amazing what happens if you just cut carbs and start walking. Remove sugar, carbs, and alcohol then just keep the body moving around as much as you can you will lose quite a bit like that. Add weight training and you'll lose even faster.

@gabz Yeah, you just have to start...once your in, it's easier.. but have to start... even if it's something like a 1/2 mile walk a day and quit one item.. as long as you start.

What are some good examples of blogs, even small ones, that have federated their actual websites? Thinking of sites using the plugin for or similar and that actually post regularly with multiple authors. Trying to see what the best practice is so I can help make recommendations to people or orgs that have a WP blog but haven’t gone in on Fedi yet.

As of today, I am no longer subscribed to any streaming music platforms. I dropped Spotify last year, and today I dropped Tidal.

I have an awesome and growing vinyl collection. I ripped all my CDs and have my entire digital music library on both my iPod and Plex.

I'm content with this decision. In fact I'm EXCITED about it, because I'll be spending more time enjoying and loving the heaps of music I already own.

As for discovery? Recommendations, Bandcamp, and good old fashioned music blogs.

@killyourfm I recently started running Navidrome and access it with an app called Substreamer on android and ios.. it's basically creating your own spotify. You can run the server for about $5 a month depending on the size of your music collection. I used pikapods.

Another challenge I have is, I really want a Mac. But the platform goes against many of my ideals, it’s anti , it’s a , and though they are much more private than a Windows machine, they make questionable choices when it comes down to profits… which push me to .

@codinghorror I grew up in their hometown. I went to highschool with Rick Nielsen's son. And his cousin was one of my good friends dad. He was a pretty cool cat. Also Bun E. Carlos the drummer was super nice, bought some friends and I all dinner when he heard we were veterans. He was a couple tables away dressed like a garage dad wiht his family. He was in dirty sweats and tennis shoes, did not look rock star at all.

Wake me up when Apple supports RCS, simple sideloading of apps, and setting all my default apps to the ones I actually want to use.

While we're dreaming, an unlockable bootloader so I can actually dictate what software runs on my phone would be nice (lol).

@cassidy it is probably me then. I have both and seem to get confused finding it in android settings. Maybe because I'm expecting it to be done like on my iPhone.

While I agree that is grinding out too much (and ) content on the Disney+ platform, the author of this article is clearly not familiar with the Star Wars universe - especially when they write, “The character of Sabine Wren is a decent new addition”. Sabine has been in the Star Wars universe for four seasons already (Rebels).

At this point, I wish that Disney would focus resources on making one good Star Wars movie instead of all these shows.

@thurrott it is refreshing compared to Google, Microsoft makes thing, keeps it around forever even though useless. Google makes amazingly useful thing and kills it in 6 months...lol

Dang, I was really hoping Pixel 8 would support the magnet array for Qi2, but apparently it won’t. 😭

MagSafe is neat and you can get mostly there with cases on other phones, but also I don’t use a case with my phone.

I love Apple's hardware, but what the heck is going on with the Apple TV? I've had to reboot multiple Apple TVs (latest model) multiple times just to get basic video playback going across several apps like Hulu and Netflix and HBO Max. You'll press play and it crashes back out to the main menu. Repeat. Repeat. Until you reboot..

@codinghorror I have the AppleTV HD and it has never crashed, it is also much more responsive than my chromecast and Amazon fire.
